I just bought one in a market. There was film in it and someone had tried to force wind on after all the film was exposed, dislocating the winding / shutter cocking mechanism. I will be trying to fix it as above so thanks for the info. I have my own ME Super since 1981. A great little film camera to learn on. I bought the broken one solely for its pristine 50mm f1.7 lens - the original kit lens and a truly excellent optic with PK mount which I use on my Sony mirrorless bodies in fully Manual mode.

Hi! please help me where to look down or on top. The problem is this: after falling, the fast wind lever does not return back. I have to return it manually after rewinding the film

There is NO possible way you could "reuse" the original brass crimes from the tungsten wire, you'd utterly destroy them digging them out, trust me I know, you'd need to get new a crimping solution, apparently 0.5mm fishing crimps exist but they are a double thing, made too loop the fishing line, so some other 5mm tube is needed to crimp to the fishing braid, then use a soldering iron to seat that into the original plastic camera dial spool thing

Thank you for this! This fixed my original problem but it went back to getting stuck when screwing back in the plate. If I hold the camera upside down it works perfectly, is there a solution to this?

I touched the contact points and the magnet let go. The shitter button still isn't letting me take photos. So do I resolder the points? I don't have any issues with the lever advancing. Just the shutter button not doing anything when I depress it.

Hi, I have a Pentax Spotmatic and it has been working great for the last year until recently. Everything works fine, but when the advance lever is done winding on the film and cocking the shutter, it does not snap back to its original position. It will return with a little force, but there is definitely some friction somewhere in the mechanism. Any idea what is causing that? Thanks :)

I was trying to adjust the blue gear then I think I heard something click, and now the camera jammed and the shutter doesn’t fire and can’t advance it and suddenly the electronics don’t work. The camera worked before I was just trying to adjust the winder bc the advance lever was sticky. I wonder if I should just try replacing bottom capacitor?

I have a Lunasix 3 and I am about to do the same upgrade but on my model, but: THE RED WIRE IS THE NEGATIVE! The position of the batteries is the same as yours with the + touching the screwing cap. If the diode must be connected to the positive that is the wrong wire. Please check with a multimeter with the 'beep function' which is the positive. Online you can find another video where you can see an Italian guy installing the diode on a blue positive wire one the side (Mine is Yellow).

I had one in working condition about to be used. Loaded up a film but after a day or so I found out it wasn’t properly installed as that rewind dial wouldn’t spin when advancing. So messing around I must’ve done something wrong as now the shutter is cocked but can’t be fired anymore and the forwarding lever has no tension at all. Hopefully this video will be a fix to my issue. I just need to find the proper screw drivers first…

I also have the battery wire which is corroded and very difficult to solder. I was wondering if it was not possible to attach (glue) a new wire to one end of the corroded wire and gently pull to pass the wire through. I suppose that if the proposed method is to disassemble the front panel it is because it is not as simple as that.
@FixOldCameras2 ай бұрын
Usually the battery wire is glued to the chassis along the mirror box.

Thank you for this answer. I understand. Finally I succeded to solder the brown wire to the battery case with a lot of patience and soldering fluid. It wasn't working so I opened the top partof the camera to check the electrical continuity from the battery case to the switch. Miracle the wire is ok, but switch appear to be corroded and whatever the position (on or off), there is no connexion between the wire solded to a small part printed circuit headind to the switch axis and the printed circuit corresponding to the switch postion. I short cutted the wire to the printed circuit corresponding to on position and I saw the light meter coming alive. So my problem looks like there in corrosion between the switch and the printed circuit. I put KF top linear product, some fluid dedicated to clean linear contact. No result. There is a large screw at the middle of the switch . I tried to unscrew it gently but it's doesnt come. I dont want to force this screw but I think I need to access the inner part of the switch to clean corrosion. Any Advice ?
@brunocabanis2893Ай бұрын
I finally solve my problem and answered my own question. First I want to precise that my OM1 is a MD model. On this model the ON ON switch looks different as on the first OM1 model. The switch screw wich is the switch axis cannot be unscrewed by the top and I didnt wanted to disassemble the pc board supporting this switch because the wire are fragile (often corroded) and resolder them is random. So I preferred to try to clean the contact and I used a mix of baking soda with white vineggar and it worked after a while (second miracle). Afterwhat I cleaned the switch with isopropanol to remove the remaining of baking soda and reassembled the top cover. I had taken advantage of the broken wire at the battery case level to insert a shottky BA 43 diode so the next step will be to check how accurate is the light meter with a 1,5 V battery in.

I managed to fix the sqeak sound that came from the mirror mechanism (with silicon oil) but i also hear the same sound from the apperture mechanism especially if the apperture is small, from 11 to 22... I cannot figure out how to fix this one. If the apperure is 1.8 there is not sqeak... Also i observed that when i choose 22 for the apperture it does not fully close but closes like i have choosen 11 or 16.. Any ideas?? Thx!!!
