This happened to me. I checked celluar or in my case Mobile Data, select Mobile Data Network and copy whatever is in your APN for the Mobile Data and paste it to your personal hotspot section. And hey presto, it works.

Copied comment from some guy None of the videos in internet solve your problem … they didn’t get the simple answer. You need to go settings> mobile data> mobile data network and write down APN and Username of your service provider on hotspot section. In my case i put APN etc and password etc, as am using ethio telecom simcard. Then restart and it gonna work for sure

this worked! in my case all fields in the network settings were blank, but i was able to find the carrier APN settings on the internet, and after inserting the APN name the "Hotspot" buttons appeared

I could do all these steps or I can give up on shitty apple products and move to Android where the hotspot never goes down. I've had this same issue on every single iPhone I've used a hotspot on. Overpriced garbage.

I have never had HotSpot issues with iPhone or Android. Could be your carrier?

True Apples prices are purely for the brand, the hardware is absolutely garbage and they purposely make their iPhones shit so u buy the next one m

Did not help. There is no personal hotspot option in settings or cellular settings.

Did you call your carrier or Apple? Sometimes the carrier has to allow access. Usually happens if you have a locked phone to a specific carrier.

@@DHTV Actually i found the solution. It is not about locked phone or anything. Sometimes iPhone 15 pro max fails to auto set APN. When you do APN settings manually it works perfectly. 🥰🥰

@@FrostyBeastGaming Thanks, that was it in my case. Got to a new country, bought 2 SIM cards, one for my Android and another for my partner who has an iPhone. It worked with no problem on my Android but on the iPhone, the Portable Hotspot tab was gone. Setting the APN of the mobile carrier (no username / password) was enough to get back the Portable Hotspot tab. On my Android, I double-checked the settings, and everything was empty too but somehow no problem. By the way, it's not an iPhone hardware issue, but more likely an iOS / software bug: it's an older iPhone XS (running on latest iOS version)
