Had an OG pair of these circa 2005, that I'd use while running since the ear loop held on decent for what was available at the time and the sound was good. I believe these were rumored to be the fancy "drivers" that Palmer Lucky mentioned were used in the original Rift CV1. I ended up buying a pair for my Vive as they were an easy over the ear solution that didn't involve a bulky headstrap and didn't provide full isolation so you could actually hear anyone else in the room. Considering the price they have always punched over there weight.

I use these too :) I have a 3d print to make it work like the htc deluxe audio strap but my normal headphones are sent off for repair so haven't taken off the ear clips yet since I am using it for work too until I get my headphones back. They are pretty good :)
@Eventzocker6 ай бұрын
Hi, which 3d print did you use to attach the headphones?

YOOOOOOOOO KSC75s are my main headphones for anything with a headphone jack also the original Rift CV1's headphones literally use the same drivers as ksc75/portapros

OH RIGHT, I'd forgotten the CV1 used the Koss drivers! heh.

I bought them some years ago to fix my Oculus Rift S audio speakers cause they were pretty bad. I actually love the sound of this headphones, it even sounded clearer than my Astro A50s that I had at the time, the problem was that I just can't wear this things for more than an hour, it starts to hurt really badly, maybe cause of my ear shape. I swear that if they released the same drivers but in a more "tradicional" headphone style, they would be my daily driver and replace my Arctis Pro gaming headset. EDIT: Now I almost don't use them, sadly. I got the Valve Index on 2021 so since then audio and VR has not been an issue for me.

Thank you very much for this video! Inspired by you, I tested the KSC75s vs my Vive DAS in a video and found the KSC75s my new favorite.

I always loved the clip on headphones. I could clip them on my hoodie sleeve to listen to music during classes without getting caught. I wouldn't mind getting true wireless headphones with the same design.

The Koss KSC35 are Bluetooth, and otherwise nearly identical to these.

@@BluntyTV yeah, I knew about those but they still have a wire that connects them. I find those types to be annoying to wear. Thank you for pointing them out anyway though.

Just go these. Thanks for the suggestion. The speakers on the Quest 3 are lacking to be kind. The Koss's are open, balanced and have way better imaging. The only thing I didn't like about the Quest 3 and you solved it.

How does the sound of these compare to Valve Index headphones?

Yo Blunty I used to watch your early videos of stopmotion animation back in the day! It's good to see you still making content on here! I now make animations too now! Will you every make animations again someday? :)

Now we need to figure out how to improve the mic.. Maybe a Microphone cushion thingie over the charging contacts?

Revenge of the Sith is awesome, I will die on that hill lol. Great vid though, I may have to try those headphones out, at present the sound quality of the Q3 is fine enough. I did have to use my full headset once with the Quest 3 and the weight of all that on my head started causing some very uncomfortable strain on my neck within just a few minutes.
@Clara_Page11 ай бұрын
TBH I have no problem with the Quest 3's in buit speakers as they area substancial upgrade to the Q2's but I'm still tempted to get these headphones just because I like a good clean sound from my headphones, there's a very specific line of older turtlebeach headphones I love for this very reason. nothing has come close to that sound quality for me since and to have that in a more portable form factor would be a very nice upgrade... I might have to investigate the bluetooth version aswell

I use the KSC35 because I have a blacked out Quest3 and I want to match the color. Does the job, and I also have Marshall Mode earbuds if I want the in-ear option

As an “average audiophile” I have no problems with the built-in speakers. In the future when vr visuals get better, I will probably crave better audio.

I use Koss porta Pro with 3D Printed adapters. I wonder if the drivers of yours are the same.

They are VERY similar, but the Porta Pro don't use the titanium variant IIRC

@@BluntyTV Man! I swear I got some of these from a second hand store for like 1 Euro many years ago and I dumped them thinking they were trash :D

While i appreciate the great review. I agree the sound quality is better, its not better to add all the wire that comes with it. I bought the quest 3 to get away from wires, and these just created a spider nest of wire all over the place. True you can tie it all up neat, but it really hinders the abilty to pop-on pop-off your headset. I am returning these. I do like them, but its just too much to fumble with each time i wanna put on and take off my headset.
@waRFlamez_6 ай бұрын
What did you get instead? I also bought this for the quest 3, didn’t like the wire either.

Honestly the quest 3 doesnt have bad audio at all, especially with the spatial audio, you really only need a sound upgrade if you have some serious minimums in audio quality
@BluntyTV2 ай бұрын
or maybe your hearing is just a bit shit? ... Because while the Q3's speakers are "fine" - they're HARDLY ideal. Book that hearing test mate... or get a GOOD set of headphones and discover what you've been missing.
