FIX! Resolve media offline - codec missing to play H265 files like Fuji FLOG or DJI drone film

You're trying to load Fuji FLOG or DJI drone footage into the resolve timeline, but it shows as "media offline" while still showing there's audio. Now what?!

I am sorry to say, but it did not work for me. I downloaded the file directly from the store and installed it and rebooted my Dell XPS 15. Still no luck with my Canon R6 c-log footage. Only imports the sound portion, no video.

I purchased the HEVC extension from the Windows store, installed it. And restart PC. My PC is using Windows 10, and DaVinci Resolve still won't play my H265 10bit 422 files bummer :( I keep reading online that I need to purchase the studio version, is this the only way?

Hi, Vital question I used to transfer videos by phone cable from iphone to PC , the video displayed on PC would be double the size on iphone (which is good and expected), the codec of the vid shows H.264 on PC and the quality is just good and natural. Now when I transfer the very same video, from the same iphone to the very same PC (even to other PCs) via the same cable, the video file size is half, requires HEVC codec to play and when i downloaded hevc and okayed the video, visual quality is just bad ; bitrate is cut in half, fand file size is half than the previous copy that I had trabsferred many months ago. Also, the good quality copy that shows H.264 on PC , now shows HEVC on the iphone I only have this issue with videos now, not with pics. Inever had had it with videos before. Would you happen to know where this might come from and how to remeditae? (Full disclosure: dropbox and icloud don't help as they export the file from phone as compressed; converting codecs doesn't do anything neither; And "keep originals" option doesn't matter at all) Thank you hery much

I've tried with three different free versions for hours on Windows 11. Install, uninstall, install, uninstall, restart etc. for hours! I reinstalled DaVinci, and it was still not working. It shows installed everywhere, in store (installed, not purchased) and on the computer. After 2,5 hours, I figured I wasn't able to run the same files in Windows Media Player - which means, the installed file isn't working. SOLUTION was, to buy the original from Microsoft Store. Works like a charm.

Hey. How do I import this h.265 footage into davinci on a windows machine. It's not showing up in the media pool and it seems to be a .mov file when I see in a folder on my computer. Whereas in the phone it is a .hevc file. Any info on this would be great!

thanks for the video, I installed the codec, but i understood that it wasn't the actual problem. Da Vinci imports just the audio of the clip without the footage (but it remains mp4), i search the entire web fining for a solution but I find anything. Do you know how ti solve this problem??

If you're like me and removed MS store to remove bloatware, this is how you install the downloaded file via powershell. Start Powershell in administrator modus, navigate to where it's stored: Add-AppxPackage -Path .\Microsoft.HEVCVideoExtension_2.0.52911.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.Appx
