You are a god send! I spent probably 20 hours trying to fix my launchers and i tried so many options (many beyond this video) it was using the Program compatibility launcher that solved it. I didnt actually use it on the game exe itself but rather on steam which put it in Compatibility for Windows 8 and finally the launcher....launched!

If these methods don't work like it did for me you can try to verify the integrity of the games files through steam, close steam altogether then delete the appcache folder found in the Steam folder then restart your pc and it should work

Non of these worked, whenever I try to launch the game in the steam app, it says stop, and after a few seconds it says play again. I also tried a desktop shortcut and reinstalling. Any tips? Edit: it says libcocos2d.dll,libextentions.dll, glew32.dll, and steam_api.dll was not found. That may help.
