Just did this and it brought my battery back in service. Took few times to get a good connection between batteries. I left them connected together 25 minutes. It worked. Saved me buying a new battery eventually.

Thank you so much for the video and advice, This little video has saved my favorite tool batteries from the trash man!

This looks to have worked for me too. Thank you. I connected a full(M18 2.0) and faulty(M18 5.0) battery together for about 20mins. No change. Faulty battery still flashing one bar and charger still instantly going green. I connected the batteries together again. I checked their charges again and this time the faulty battery showed three bars charge. I took it to the charger and the charger still goes to green instantly. I pugged it in a tool and it works. I plan to swap this to a frequently used tool and run it down and hopefully then the charger will charge it. I know the serial tells the age but I don't have it with me; I believe this battery is about 4yrs old with relatively light use.

@yusafkhan93479 ай бұрын
Unfortunately hasn't worked for me. That's not to say this method doesn't work. There can be other factors also present in my battery that prevent this method from working. Have read comments on this section about the jumper cable burning that is a result of either an additional fault in someone's battery, or jumper cables are too thin and the current (amperage) is strangled when passing along the jumper cables or as you have mentioned many times about polarity mix ups. It's no different to jump starting a car. If the cables get too hot or burn then they are undersized. Perhaps I will try this method again as on the first occasion I used a healthy 3ah to jump a faulty 5ah whereas I should have used like for like i.e 5ah to jump a 5ah. If it works I'll definitely drop a comment about it. If I don't reply back its because I'm still trying. Thanks anyhow, the video was clear and concise. Hate long winded videos before they get to the point, by which time I've usually skipped to the next video.
