Great tip. Thanks so much! I had the same issue on a Waffen Werks. This took care of it. I did use a dremel with a thin cut wheel and ground it off slowly. Kept trying it like you said until it was just right. Amazing how much difference it made!
@MisterSoul9910 жыл бұрын
Glad that worked. Can you believe of all the tools I have a dremel is not one. MAybe I will pick one up as they seem to be handy on so many things.

You should also note that some rifles using full auto safeties have to have the complete trigger assembly taken down to get the safety lever. Both my Norinco 56S and 84S have to have the trigger assembly tore down to get the safety lever out. Yet with my Draco pistol I'm using a surplus full auto safety and I just had to play with the trigger to get it out.

I hear ya, some people use it more than others, either way it should work somewhat properly. Also when people go to some ranges or do competition shooting they have safety-on safety-off rules. Thanks for your comment.

I have never used a dremil tool but I would suspect it would be very easy to grind off to much, unless one was to do it on a routine basis. Remember it is only tight by a few thousands. Maybe a sanding disk on a Dremil might be an idea. Thanks for you comments

What was the grit, on the belt sander belt, you used?

Excellent video! It worked and I also sanded the pivot point inside the receiver. Works with a flick of the index finger. Thanks!

i have this issue with my first AK, a new M70- NPAP; thanks for the tip. Do you think a nail file might work in that crevice?
@MisterSoul999 жыл бұрын
BoomBoom The slot is only as thick as the receiver, it takes something pretty thin to get in there.

I'm dying right now my safety won't go back in my n pap m70 after I took the safety lever an trigger out and tried to reassemble it the safety lever won't go back down into the fire position I THINK there is a small bit of metal on the back of my trigger acting as a shelf or ledge and the safety won't go past it it's a g 2 tapco btw should I file it down any advice is appreciated god I'm pissed

If your N PAP is still having issues after 3 years, have you checked the shepherds hook?

The problem on mine is the inside scrapes the reciever. Ive tried bending it out and still no luck. I got a pak 9 so the reciever might differ a bit than a regular ak. Yup same problem as u. Gonna try and get in there with a grinder

To cut down on time and to ensure the sanding was straight and angles well I used a Dremel cutting wheel, on its side will last way longer then dremil sand paper or regular sand paper you can keep a straight perfect angle using it. ON Low setting just take a tad off check it and go back. I had it done in 5 minutes using a Dremil, note use the cutting wheel to sand not cut a slice you could easily take to much so use for sanding NOT cutting. Worked great just modified how it was done here for time . Paper works too just takes longer and you are not guaranteed a straight sanding surface,

what if you just used some valve grinding compound, slathered it up, and worked it around a couple times? probably work too?

You mean a Compression adjustment; not a Tension adjustment. Compression pushes and Tension pulls. You are changing the compression (push) of the Safety Lever on the Receiver.

3:03 Wow! good thing you did clear that weapon, or you would have shot a hole in the wall taking the safety out. I would consider that a serious design flaw in the AK Trigger group. I wouldn't make that safety lever too loose, for that reason.

You can see the hammer at rest already. That was the sound of the reset. Not sure if it would fire if it was back, but I assume (or hope) not.

Oh hell, mine is so tight that I have to knock it in to the safety so I unload instead of putting the safety on lol I will try this on my next day off.

theirs an easier fix...probably the correct one, remove safety according to video, place in vise with lever side ways (vise barely snug) and take a hammer and about two to the good bumps to the head of the safety will adjust it...their press fit together and probably set on the tight side to allow for wear resulting in loosening up after a lot of use...good day
@cheezychungus967 Жыл бұрын
This is overkill, just bend the damn thing out a bit, that's literally how you're supposed to fix that according to the manual.
@VladPutinsDad3 ай бұрын
sometimes that doesn’t work. i have done that and my safety is still super tight.
