@@mikeb3835 I’m with you Mike. I don’t get it either. I chew up a lot of golf on KZbin. Most of the channels with high sub counts are not nearly as entertaining as this one. What I do know from watching so much KZbin is that subs and replies do matter, but there are a lot of other factors too like consistency of uploads times and even similar content. The KZbin algorithm is a fickle thing. One thing I’m sure of is this channel has what it takes to be enormously successful and is the only one I get excited to hurry up and watch when I get that new video reminder.

Great video pal. This is very similar to my swing speed and my miss and therefor great to watch. I think possibly putting the cost of the shaft in the video would be nice. I went for a driver fitting but was not told the prices of the shafts and was not asked a budget. When I left I was suggested a setup which was going to cost over £1200 which was a shock and I declined. Would have been nice to have given a budget beforehand and then worked within that budget as ultimately the fitting was useless to me.

Very interesting video!!! Same swing speed/tendencies as myself.. Wouldn’t the SFT version of the Ping driver fit the client? Why didn’t you give it a test? Interested to know your reasoning (as Ping recommends it for slicers).
@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
Yes SFT is mega draw biased, probably the most draw biased out there so I only use in emergencies 😂😂 so there would be a couple of reasons in this circumstance, 1. I didn't feel like we needed to, with the right set up the 10k was easy enough for Niall to square up now with room to grow into it. The SFT is a very spinny head and only available in 10.5 so yes it would have been very easy to square up but the ball flight wouldn't have been great ( very high and spinny and weak) and it would have lost a lot of distance. Which could be acceptable if the player in question was not going to be working on the swing to mitigate the right miss. Which is obviously the better route to take. The SFT is really a bit of a band aid for someone who has a slice and isn't going to do much swing work to fix it. Niall will be working a lot on his swing so hopefully in not too much time the SFT would just be missing consistently left if he's doing the right things. And it might be harder to even make the correct swing changes with that head as you would just be overdrawing the ball consistently and not want to keep doing it. So much better off having a drive that works pretty well now, allows you to work on the swing but also when you work on the swing it will still be a great driver for you and give better ball flight better distance etc 👍
@danielmannerstrom11183 ай бұрын

You said if you have a 13* loft driver and take it down to a 9* it would open up your face. Would this mean if I buy a 9* loft driver and adjust it up to 13* the face will close? Wouldn't this be helpful for a slicer with a high handicap like myself? I could potential improve my swing and decrease loft back to 9 accordingly as I get better at squaring the face and work on my swing path from in to out. Im 4 months into golf and loving the process. Many many painful sessions but all it takes is that one good hit to keep me going 😂
@stanster303 ай бұрын
You always seem to loft down, is there a swing speed where you would prefer to add loft?
@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
No it's nothing to do with speed, it all comes down to angle of attack and delivered loft. You could have the slowest swing speed in the world and still need an 8* driver if you hit up on the ball enough. Generally it's people that hit down on the ball that need the loft.

Thanks Raymond..and yes it could help a bit but those drivers along with being offset are also designed to be very easy to square up too in terms of internal mass placement, offset will marginally help
@mipal792 ай бұрын
While testing the Darkspeed X, you mentioned lofting up the driver a bit to close the face. Regarding how the face opens or closes when altering loft: I understand that increasing loft closes the face, and delofting opens it. However, isn’t the idea to square the face at address, which is what actually changes the loft? In that case, the face opening/closing by itself shouldn’t really matter, right? If you increase the loft but let the driver sit with the face closed, you’re effectively playing the original loft with a closed face-and that’s not the intended effect. Am I understanding this correctly?
@Paul-kw1ogАй бұрын
Very good!!
@epgolfstudiosАй бұрын
Thanks Paul 👍
@Aaron-CC3 ай бұрын
My understanding is If you turn down the loft by 2 degrees on the sleeve the face will open when the club is soled on the ground. If you square the face back up at address then the effective loft becomes 8.5 degrees (driver printed loft 10.5). Is my understanding correct? Could you do a video on explaining loft sleeves and how the face open/close and the effective loft.
@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
Yeah exactly. And with TaylorMade drivers if you turn the loft all the way down then the face sits 4* open..which is a lot! I could do but got quite a lot planned over the next little while so it might not be for a little while. Yes 100% every handicap should get fitted. The ping set up even without swing work will be much easier to square up on average due to head design, length and swingweight, that's an obvious pattern I see all the time, and therefore be straighter on average and when he does get it right it also goes 20 yards further...absolute no brainer.

@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
Yeah absolutely,.certainly shorter and therefore a lighter swingweight. But I would say the head design has a massive part to play. The ping is definitely an easier head to square up the face. Then pairing that with a lighter shorter CB shaft just gives the best chance possible 👍

Locally, I can get the mizuno for about 30-50% less than a ping or Callaway. This is my chief concern about fittings, wanting to get an optimized setup for a preferred club (lower cost/on-sale model), vs being steered toward a more expensive or favored brand. I have a similar handicap but slower swing speed. At my local fitting, we didn’t have a nice screen to hit into (had a blank tarp) and I just started hooking everything left and the got too tired to be able to visualize my issues and straighten it out. Seems like he has a pretty good swing to me, good example for this illustration. Not sure why his handicap isn’t lower… Maybe his putting or short game is rough?… lol. Best of luck.

Hes fairly closed at address. Add to that the O-I path and it reduces his margin for error. His timing has to be pretty perfect to shut the face just enough to pull it straight. The give away is his lack of balance. Always spinning out trying to pull it back on line. If he sets up more left the club travels more down the body path. The club would be on line longer giving a wider window for timing. More of his club speed would be imparted on the ball as it can stay on the face longer. If hes O-I 3deg and the face is closed it shouldn't be going straight if he sets up better. To have to produce that perfect timing to hit it straight is just difficult to repeat. Aiming squarely with the face down the left and feet parallel would produce a repeatable fade with margin for error. Or he needs to shift path 4 or 5 degrees more to the right. This takes a lot of practice and more time than most people have. His DNA is O-I with an open face. Setting up with this in mind could only be increasing his margin for error. Not to mention saving a lot of stress on left hip, left knee and lower back.

His club head speed dropped quite a bit the longer he hit the ball. This in mind I don't think he was getting a good comparison through all the clubs. Perhaps he should try hitting them in the reverse after he's rested. Also, that is to much shaft for his average club head speed.

As a current model, the driver in this guys hands on arrival would not have been a cheap purchase at perhaps £500+. It would have been interesting to hear what were his thoughts during that initial buying process, off the shelf? eBay? or other custom fit? It's clear that it isn't suited to him and he'll now be lucky if he gets £300 as a second hand sale. Hence a £200+ loss within a few months to a year and perhaps numerous green fees wasted and disappointing games when using it. If he went ahead with the purchase at the new custom fit spec, he'll be making another £500+ purchase. It's an expensive game anyway, however if purchases don't work well for the player....it drains money frighteningly quick.

@barrydesmond9288 I'm not sure off the the top of my head to be completely honest but if you Google Essex Trackman Golf Lesson I'm sure there will be loads of places 👍

When do you tell someone to get lessons instead of a driver fitting?
@epgolfstudios2 ай бұрын
If I feel that a driver fitting / new driver will not benefit them in any way. Or there's something glaringly obvious that needs to be sorted out before I think it's worth going ahead with a new driver

@@epgolfstudioswhat were the final specs compared to the customers driver? Shorter shaft, less loft & a different swing weight? Ta

@peterscott1498 can't remember off the top of my head this was filmed ages ago now but all the specs are in the video. I ended up recommending the first Ping set up we tried so you can find those specs and his specs are in at the start of the vid.

@ sheeeet! Just realised it was 2 week ago I could used a shorter shaft & a tweak of swing weight

Please please please tell whoever is getting club fitting with you to wear their freaking golf shoes… the grip, the sole height would make so much difference. How can they focus on their swings while keep losing their stance on every swing.

It would have been better to have him swing his gamer after the swing changes. The improvement likely will be a lot less
@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
I suppose it could have been good but overall the set up of the Ping is much friendlier to protect against the right miss being shorter and lighter and CB shaft and as a 10.5 much spinnier head in the Qi10 even on the good hits it still would have been quite a bit down on distance too

He has capacity to 270y total easily.
@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
He does yes but not easily. His absoulte very best will go 270 when all of the delivery variables align with a great strike.

His left wrist at address is in such a bad position. It's no wonder he's open through the strike zone. Theres no way he's going to get his wrists back to that position to square up.

I'm only 2/3rds thru the video, and it looks like a D0 swing weight would help with his right miss...and obviously, he's extremely flat. Just getting to the swing instructions.

His grip is weird and it seems to be the root cause of the open face and out to in path
@epgolfstudios3 ай бұрын
Id say his grips pretty neutral tbh, I did tweak his right hand into a stronger position and some point in the video too, probably later on, just to help him square up the face a little bit, but there's a lot of things going on tbh causing a few issues which he is working on 👌

That clearly shows he should have lessons not a driver fitting absolute waste of money his driver he had is fine .all you did was mask a swing problem lesson lesson lesson
