Hey guys sorry for the long drawn out video about this Milwaukee problem. I repeat myself a lot and don’t have good editing skills. It was one of my first videos so I’ve gotten better. 😊 Anyways let me know if you had the same issue with yours. Thanks.

Sep. 2021 I just bought the M18 MILWAUKEE 2802 and comparing it with another that I have the Brushless 1/2 Makita 18v Dhp485sye, the MILWAUKEE 2802 is louder, the motor whistles, it heats up more, the battery does not fit at all, the charger seems iron but as a positive point It has a better Chuck, it feels powerful, 5-year warranty, it looks well manufactured. Between MILWAUKEE and Makita the power seems similar, at the moment I prefer the makita since the motor is quieter, the motor and charger hardly get hot, time will tell if the heating in the MILWAUKEE is a problem or not. It has cost me USD$185, winning the makita for USD$12 dlls less. I hope my comments contribute something positive to your purchases.

I’ve had both as well and I’ve had a couple Makita ones burn up on me even though they’re brushless. Sometimes they seem smoother to me too. The one thing I like better about Milwaukee is the warranty.

I will be doing this trigger mod. The m18 fuel impact trigger is horrible about hanging up. I also just had to replace my impact because it died. It would light up when i would pull the trigger but the motor would not respond. The m18 fuel drill has worked fine so far but it does not see much use. 2 months on the impact before it died
@SmartEasyDIYer10 жыл бұрын
Wow I'm surprised your impact didn't last longer... Yeah this is a simple fix it just takes a little time. Good luck with it and your drill! We been very happy with the drills.

somedude I have an m18 here which has that fault (Lighting up but not responding) intermittently - It's not the fault in the video. I think there is a loose connection somewhere, it comes back if you give it a knock.

+Steve Bush I have the same issue I think it might be the trigger assembly opposed to the fwd/rev switch. I'm gutting my 1st gen fuel for the parts
@dlf19769 жыл бұрын
Same here. My issue is the trigger suppresses and the led lights up, but nothing happens. I took it apart and cleaned it, but fixed nothing. I talked to a buddy who seems to be a tool expert, and he said he had the same problem when he bought Milwaukee. He returned it and months later had the same issue with the new one. He said to buy Rigid, but I've already blew money on this one

Got brand new M12s that are the same way. It's upsetting paying over 200 bucks for new tools and having to modify them. I'm assuming no warranty issues with this mod. No seals have to be broken?

I’m not sure that it would affect warranty but if you just got them I would see about returning them maybe first

My brand new hammer drill m18 fuel does this Trigger BS! It’s odd because I have the m18 brushless compact kit that seems better quality then the more expensive fuel line. I might just get ride of them and stick with my Makita brushless set. This is Bs that they cost a lot and have a problem like this. My 1-2 switch seems a little messed up also

It amazes me at the people trying to fix their tools. If it is out of warranty, ok then, but if it is still within the 5 year warranty, use ‘E-service!’ Milwaukee sends you a shipping label, and returns it back to you in a timely manner. Triggers are a bad subject regarding Milwaukee drills and guns.

Well thanks. I did it for people that had the same issue. I think it would be covered under warranty just fine but it’s a pain for a brand new tool to have that problem. Almost more of a hassle to send it in to have it fixed than to fix it yourself.
