Fix Whirlpool Front Load Washer- Broken Spider

Thank! I got inspiration from this video. I just replaced jbweld (which is very expensive) by sikadur 32-EF. With this I filled all gaps totaly (with threaded rod + sikadur) and I ended-up with remaining resin, that I used to repair another washing machine with the same failure. So 2 spider arms for 30$! The final spiders are more heavy than the original one, but looks also more strong. The first machine is now working since 6 months. I just need to limit the max spin to 600 rpm because the drum is not turning perfectly round (and maybe spider is not balanced?). I have this issue for the 2 machine. I understand that when spider breaks the drum takes a choc, and in addition the repair is not precise up to the millimeter. But 600 rpm is quite enough. NOTE: I did not glued and screwed (like seen at 2:14 and 2:44) the spider arm to the drum. But really think it's a good idea. I just re-viewed the video and didn't paid attention to this before. But still that works without such glue/screw in my case.

Hi, yes, I only had one big wad of shop towels in it, it is actually pretty quiet and still using it after all these years. It is an older one made in Italy, so was worth fixing, pretty high quality. Thanks!

it is good idea.but i think you need just half of the bolts and use some jb weld cover to protect the rust and leak . not too many resin and bolts

That noise went away with a larger load.

omg 1 pack of JB Weld(2 x 5oz tubes) is AUD$64.99. if it needs 2 packs its $130 and a new spider is $175.. i may have to play it smart and buy the replacement part. not as much fun though. or a) find a cheaper adhesive, b) build and weld steel arms to the shaft. anyway great work and great video.

Explosion waiting to happen. Saw this repair done a few times with destructive failure after a few months rendering the machine useless. Best fix is to get a new one and have it anodized or epoxy coated to prevent any corrosion for years to come

No, you are wrong. I must have 600 loads on it by now. It is both JB Weld but also many bolts. It cannot come apart. Yeah, I am going to spend $1200 on a new one, take it apart and get it anodized, great idea Einstein.
