had the same issue on my 2005 since forever (bought brand new 8 miles off the lot) . I didn't mind it and did not feel the urge to fix it. Got pull over because cop thought I was messing with and him when signaling behind him. Turned out to be an hour stop of non stop harassment, I tried to explain to him and even showed him but his little ego was not going to let it go. cop was determined to find something to Write me a ticket .finally after noticing tint on my window, he got his wish and wrote me a fix it, mind you my windows were rolled down all the way, except my passenger had about a quarter inch up exposing that my windows had tint. sorry for the rant just venting as this happened last night.

Of course, you didn't mind it! because you weren't the one being flashed in the face with highlights when you would turn your signal on at a stop.

Ooooor with the same amount of effort and time and $30, you could just undo 2 screws and 3 small wire harnesses and pop the bad turn signal switch out and put in a new one. That way you dont lose functionality of you're high beams.

So you just sacrifice bright lights altogether? That's not a fix. That's a temporary crutch at best. You should make that more clear in the video. All that being said, thanks for your time.

Update...... The actual fix is to replace the turn signal/dimmer switch on the steering column. It's very inexpensive and can be done in a few minutes with simple tools. That way you still have bright lights and everything works as it should. This is a known problem and there are videos on how to replace the switch.

If your gonna jump wires might as well take the switch out and fix it, just got done doing my 05 Chevy Tahoe. I would hit the right turn signal and the high beams would come on. Here is the video I followed kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKi9pIptj9d_q5I just fyi I didn't remove the back cover just the cover with the four screws and I didn't 3D print anything just filled the groove with some JB Weld Plastic Bonder let it set and put Dielectric grease on everything. I put it back together and it worked perfectly even got rid of the harsh click when setting and resetting the turn signal from the extra lubrication. For anyone wondering why I didn't just buy a new switch it's because I was finding them from $34 to $150 and they all had mixed reviews so I said "it's already not working right and I'm blinding people when I turn right so let's give it a try." And it worked.

I'm experiencing this now, i see through the comments, it solves the problem. Is the root of the problem a bad relay or a wire issue at the turn signal stick?
@Mil-usos Жыл бұрын
The root is at the turn signal stick. I believe the dealer calls it a multi function switch.

@Mil-usos2 жыл бұрын
Yes, yes it will. As mentioned in the video, the "right way" to fix this is to replace the turn signal switch (GM multi function switch). This is a low cost and legal option for those on a budget.

Remove the high beam lights, problem solved
@Mil-usos2 жыл бұрын
The problem most people have is that their regular lights switch to high beams. While using the turn signals, if you remove the high beams, at night you'll have no lights at all. Also, some turn signal switches fail so bad that only the high beams work. This "trick" restores full low beams and turn signal function without having to purchase a turn signal switch and having it replaced.
@michealkoch4425 Жыл бұрын
This makes no sense whatsoever. What does jumping the wire do? You literally just take out the relay and call it a day at that point.
@Mil-usos Жыл бұрын
If you remove the relay, the lights will turn on and off instead of switching from low to high. The wire switches the lights from low to low. Check out the other comments on this video for examples of success with this trick.
