My tanks are not leaking. Only when I put it back seated on the machine that it will drain.

I had a seam leak In a Hoover tank. Once I realized there was a seam I cleaned it out a bit with a xacto knife almost trying to make a tiny V in the seam. Then I got super thin CA (Super )glue . You need to use the thin or super thin kind. The stuff they sell at a regular store is Medium thickness. That is too thick . You can get the Thin stuff at a hobby store or online at a hobby store. The reason you want to use the super thin stuff is of the Wicking Effect. You just squeeze a little out of the bottle into the seam and the glue is so thin it will just naturally flow into and follow the seam. It helps if you’re into Modeling scale model tanks or planes ect because I just happened to have the super thin glue around, and nothing to loose. I also used to run Blow Molding machines that made plastic gallon milk bottles. These tanks appear to be made in the same way. The mold has two halves , a thin tube of material drops into the center between the molds, the molds close a shot of air is blown into the top of the mold and the molds open and now you have a bottle with a seam from the top of the neck around the bottom and back up but the bottle is in one piece. It also helps if the plastic is at the right temp to flow ,it’s been a while but I want to say 325 deg. The glue will set real quick but you can spray it with a harder and that will set in instantly. Since I had it laying around I ran a thin strip of styrene around the seam just as insurance . I just heated it just enough to make it pliable enough to get it bend around the tank. I like the fiber glass resin idea . I never bothered to figure out what resin the tank is made out of but Im thinking maybe there’s a glue that’s hot enough to weld it together like PVC sprinkler pipe. 🤔

So if that little stop vavle at the bottom of the Bissell clean water tank leaks it's a done deal? I was afraid of that. Guess I'll finagle it a bit more to see if it will stop. Here's a question; does it matter if it leaks there? That part's going to be pushed open oce it's in the machine, so it's only a pain while carrying it back to the machine from filling.. make sense?
@Lisa-gy5pw Жыл бұрын
I wish you'd gotten a response about that. Bissell wants $45 for a new tank - just because my gasket is leaking.
@georgemarkunas9233 Жыл бұрын
@@Lisa-gy5pw I used mine even though the little gasket on that valve was leaking and it seemed to work fine. As long as it's in the machine it doesn't leak

I'm going to just purchase another carpet scrubber. I have the Bissel pet smart, and the first one i had, the water leaked out of the clean water tank and left puddles on my carpet. It was under warranty so the company sent me a new one. I've only used tue new one 3 times, and it's doing the same thing. I don't have any luck with Bissell. 😢

@kristinasweeney494 ok sounds good. Have you tried it out yet?
@kristinasweeney4942 ай бұрын
@monroevac Honestly, I haven't. I did watch a few videos of other people who tried it, and they gave it good reviews, but I'm wondering if they received a free carpet scrubber for doing the review. 😅 I just hate spending money on something that I'm going to use, maybe 2 or 3 times a year, and then it quits working.

Unfortunately my leak is coming from the bottom where that red piece is and the black plug.. I just looked on the site and can't believe that a replacement is $45!

Your tank may be warped. Think back and try to remember if you used hot water in the tank. If it's warped you should see the area around the gasket kind of sunk in the middle

Hi. I just posted a question on another video. The nozzle at the bottom of the tank is glued. I just removed it because it was loose. Do you know what glue to use. I have the pet pro. Exactly the same cleaner. Thank you in advance.
@monroevacs Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. I wouldn't use glue- but you can try water resistant epoxy or sealant - probably the best bet is to replace the tank-wqter normally find it's way through any little slit or opening

Mine starts pouring out of the bottom as soon as i click the water tank into place. The rubber valve doesnt look damaged and we just bought it. Weve maybe used twice and went to use it a third time and its leaking everywhere. Its like something is stuck open and the tank is emptying out on the floor within seconds.
@monroevacs6 ай бұрын
One of two possible issues- 1 the trigger is stuck in the on position- or the reservoir is broken The reservoir is like a dam, and it’s supposed to hold the water still until you press the trigger then it releases the water.

You have to be careful with resin and plastic, as plastic can 'craze'...form tiny cracks in the plastic due to the heat of the resin and chemical reaction on the two mixtures. A bumper plastic repair kit may be a better option for repair. But remember, plastics are not created equal. :) Cheers buddy!
