This is great because whenever I toss higher tosses I have to run forward to catch them. I figured it was a practice thing, because there are some skills (cough cough drop spins in my case) that can’t get better with a single correction, however it happens all the time. I’ll certainly do a profile video of myself doing tosses later today and see what I need to fix. I don’t want me nor others to worry about a rogue rifle coming their way due to the direction of my hand and fingers!

Very good points here. I have noticed in my students who toss with a slight pitch, I can never pin point what's going on. Sometimes when they prep, it's not flat against the wall. But the other points you mentioned are very true. Will look out for these when we have weapon block next time.

My first instructor back in the early had me stand about a foot from a wall to spin flag and rifle to fix my pitch. And it was a lot of mental evaluation and practice practice PRACTICE. i learn and thats how I was able to be consistent. Self taught I guess, then that way when I didn't have someone to critique me, I could work on it on my own. And after about 1000 "6's"I knew I could always be consistent. Then I did the same thing when I picked saber. I didn't want to learn saber until I had rifle down. Using my own technique, I quickly applied gun skills to saber. Thank you for stepping up and educating our community! I appreciate watching your videos! Have a great day and be well :-) M.Y.N.W.A.....

+delanebe it's always great to hear about those who are self taught!! I truly believe that if you take the time to learn something yourself then you are more dedicated than most. Some instructors don't like it because students develop bad habits, but that's the whole point of these videos... To help everyone become great at spinning on their own without bad habits!

Pitched dips are the very start of a pitched toss so check those too! 👍

Don't think about the turn under the toss until it is time to do it, and it would also help you if you only turned on one foot like a pencil toss. Remember this: you never know what you can do until you push past your limits and do it kicking your fears away

This is very helpful... I'm a beginner rifle for my guard... Is there any tips for making your rifle stop twisting while spinning?

Yes! Press your thumb along the back. I think Jackie talks about it in detail on her video about rifle spins.

How do you get over the fear of turn around tosses on equipments???
@delanebe7 жыл бұрын
I always had it in my head that "I" had control of the equipment, not the other way around. And doing about 500 of each toss doesn't hurt either. Good luck and be well :-) M.Y.N.W.A.....

I always just tell myself to just commit to it. If you don't treat your toss like normal, it's gonna hit it. Plus remember it's only a flag/rifle/saber it doesn't hurt that bad.

+Luke Driselle make sure your tosses are really straight and consistent. If they always go up and come back down in exactly the same place then there's nothing to be afraid of!

i would love to thank you for this amazing video! even though i'm only in middle school i have a terrible pitch and i'm sick of it. it limits my abilities to toss more and get my numbers up😂 i'm really close to a solid five so i think when i fix my pitch i'll get there!

I toss all of my tosses higher than quads to the right. I don't know what's wrong with me... I've analysed myself with videos and my techs can't seem to help either. Can you help?
