I’m so happy I came across your video; my hubby was so disappointed when our pressure washer randomly stopped working, I showed him your video and he pridefully dismissed it 😠. Guess who asked to see the video a few days later to actually find a solution to our problem? 😆 He decided to follow your cutting & rewiring instructions and now our pressure washer works again 🥳 Dear husbands, If your wife finds a helpful solution to a problem via you tube just follow she means well 😄

@lydiai7705, You're right. I get good advice from my wife all the time. I'm old enough (retired) that I also ask her opinion on problems I'm working on. She has saved me a lot of time and as we discuss problems, we usually find solutions that are better than I would find on my own. :)

The plug you cut off there is called a ground fault circuit interrupter without that you can be electrocuted if you do your little trick you must plug your pressure washer into a ground fault circuit interrupter Outlet or not use it water and electricity do not mix well
@E39M5SPEED2 ай бұрын
@@eskew1ms negative. I plug the cord into GFCI. If water gets into the circuit it will trip the GFCI that cord is plugged into. Stop spreading misinformation.

How is the ryobi pressure washer holding up since the video? Any more issues?
@4205 ай бұрын
My dang Ryobi keeps clicking on and off with a pressure head installed. If i remove the pressure head and let it spray freely, it does not cut on and off. Got any quick fix for that?

I just tried starting my Ryobi electric pressure washer and the green start button does not light up and the machine does not start. Any suggestions?
@m.y.a.111 Жыл бұрын
I would suggest to replace the 🔌 in fact you don't have to cut it you could just open it with a 🪛 and unscrew the 3 cables too. Then you decide if plug them to other cable or a new GFCI.
@jeepinspence Жыл бұрын
Agreed doing away with the GFCI in an electric pressure washer is a very bad idea....

I am having the same problem with my ryobi. I opened up plug circuit protector and found that it was wired backwards from the factory. The white wire was connected to (L) the black wire was connected to (N). Anyone who works with electrical lines know that (N) is neutral (white) and (L) is the Hot wire (black)
@rubenr.89749 ай бұрын
Did you just switch the wires around and it works now? I opened mine up also and it's the same way as yours
@theodorecarbajal2975 Жыл бұрын
Just did this to the same model Ryobi lol it's been broke for months cause the plug was tripping. I found a old Xbox 360 power brick cable and used that and it works great now maybe even better 😎

The Ryobi washer gun assembly is garbage and will only last 1 season. I just had to buy a new gun and wand today after 1 year of use. The pressure washer paid for itself last year, so I'm definitely still happy with the purchase.

I’d strongly suggest just ordering a plastic replacement plug - and wiring the cord right to it instead of having a splice taped up laying on ground. Its only like $3.

Does anyone else have an issue where you could be using it normal and then all of a sudden it will turn on and off. It loses pressure then gets it back for a second and loses it back and just keeps going?
@mbohunskyАй бұрын
Yes, I have the same issue or similar to what you're experiencing. On mine it will cycle on and off continuously when not being used. Even when not squeezing the trigger the machine will turn on to prime the line and the off but instead of staying off like when working properly, it will cycle on and off indefinitely. It works just fine when it comes time to squeeze the trigger but doesn't stop when you're not pulling the trigger, cycles on and off. Came here in search of a fix but haven't found a similar issue being addressed on KZbin. I did have the issue where I had to replace the plug. Got a few more months out of it but now I'm trying to fix this new one. Did you ever find a fix for your issue? I

Hello, i just bought the ryobi 1800 psi model the green one, $99 from home depot. Unboxed, put together and the my problem is that the hose attachment to unit leaks. Water sprays out at the attachment. It does seem loose. There is only like 3 threads on the attachment. Doesnt seem like enough. Id think it would screw farther onto the unit. I tried. So would you remove the plastic to fix?
