There’s nothing inherently wrong with squats with parallel toes. But, squatting this way might be preventing you from using your full range of motion, so I’d recommend giving the squat with your toes pointing out a try! And don’t let your knees cave in! If that’s something you struggle with, visualize pushing your knees out or use a resistance band to help guide you. You got this 💪

Thank you!!!!! I thought my wider stance with my feet pointed out was my lazy way of squatting but it’s actually better for me! I only did it this way because it’s easier on my knees, so I’m so happy to know I was doing this right all along🤩🙌

Much easier on the knees and back for sure!! I wouldn’t call the parallel stance incorrect - but pointing your toes out is generally safer for most people 💪

For me it's the exact opposite, toes pointed more forward is much more comfortable and I can lift heavier. Which foot position is best depends on hip configuration though, so it'll be different for everyone ✨

Another advise: Go deeper, so you can reach the 90 degrees (from the Side) and keep your back strait, don't fall forwards with your upper body, it is harder, but then it trains your legs and booty better and less your lower Back. 😊

Wrong wrong wrong. Your not getting full range with your toes forward due to inflexibly, pointing your toes out is not fixing the problem only compounding it. Toes straight and get low.

Devin is right. It’s the hips that have to be trained to be more flexible. Pointing out the toes doesn’t contribute to better hip mobility which is the root cause of not being able to squat low. Feet should be two fists apart and straight, not pointing outwards…

You certainly can squat with your toes straight. Squatting with toes out is generally safer for knees & back and allows for a larger range of motion.

Hope this advice helps. But please please please never do the hip thrust at the top as this person above is suggesting , that’s terrible advice. You should maintain a neutral pelvis throughout.

It allows people that can’t squat at all to be able to squat, and is easier on the knees - but, you are right, there’s a slight difference in muscle activation. For most people I work with, this is safer and something that they can do 🤍

well yea, but I was making a joke darling. But looking at your foot placement and the rotation from your hip socket is the basis of a plie the difference is the torso, arms, and where you're focusing the range of movement. That was what my comment was originally going for love

This will force the person into flat feet which will force them into inward buckling of the knees. The feet should always face straight not outward like this. Pressing the toes into the ground to create a slight arch to engage those feet muscles along with using a band above the knees to activate the external rotators and hip abductors. That’s how you do a proper squat and engage the proper muscles to get better results. Not what she’s doing because what she’s doing is going to force people into the wrong form and lead to future knee problems and even low back and hip problems… do your research before just posting a video to get likes .. teach people the right thing.
