One thing that he's missed is that little tube on the bottom after opening the door you'll see it. Just get a bucket or something and take the little plug out of the hose and you can drain the water out before opening the filter in there! No water mess on your floor. That little hose is there for a reason. LOL I got lucky and seen that on another video. I couldn't stand the smell anymore. I appreciate all the videos. They have really helped me. I like the idea of vinegar and lemon juice in the washer and baking soda. That's a good idea.

I’ve been cleaning puppy blankets with poop and pee twice a week or more. Now my clothes sort of have the smell I’m definitely going to try this ! I don’t have another washer but I will be taking them to the local laundry mat.

Vinegar cancels out the baking soda. It’s better to just add baking soda to an empty washer and then add vinegar to the softener compartment or wait till rinse cycle and then add 1/2 a cup. Also most front loading washers like mine, start there cycles by draining the drum of any water before adding the water. When you added the vinegar it sucked it out into the drain.

@@William-Morey-Baker Actually, @seanryan9472 his comment is really on point. Vinegar (acetic acid dissolved in water) WILL cancel out baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate). The additional remark regarding washing machines their pumping routines is also really useful since I have (wastefully) preloaded copious amounts of acetic acid into dirty washing machines.

Eh since we moved I. The washmachine has worked well. We are on well water but have a softener. The rubber around door actually is pretty clean. I use afresh off beans once a month and it didn’t seem to help. It just smells like stale old water . Sigh also our water pressure is horrible on it something’s blocked I’m over it. I just go to the laundromat now I can’t even easily get to those filters

Should I select the auto clean after putting in the wht vinegar and baking soda?

Baking soda and vinegar react and create water and carbon dioxide, so which one has the cleaning effect? Or you just washing with water?

I just got a front loader from a friend and it smells like mildew. Hopefully I get the smell out and in the future I'll never buy a front loader. It seems they're too high maintenance.

Why are you adding vinegar and Sodium bicarb in the same load? The Bicarb will neutralize the acidity of the vinegar, defeating its cleanning power...
