I'm having a bit of trouble with this. When I pull up script eighty forty three, which seems to be the one you showed on screen, it only has sixteen scripts instead of nineteen. Do I need to use a different script?

The most recent version of hgengine does not have the Gen 9 spirites. Would I have to recompile/use make --jobs once I have added those and make an entirely new ROM or can I add those to DSPRE independently? Would I then re-do all the events, scripts and changes I have made in DSPRE?

Take the DSPRE output and put in hg engine as rom.nds. You'll need to do make clean to delete all the build files before this so that the new scripts and texts are added in when you run make --jobs

figured i'd move my question to here in case the answer helps others: when selecting a pokemon i set in the script, the textbox in game comes up blank when selecting them. how can i assign a textbox to the script?

Make sure that the Message __ is set in the text bank used in the script. For me I had all these things typed out beforehand

Is there a way to change the interior rooms? Just want to add a stairs, also where can we find the maps and edit them?

You can't export from game, only import unfortunately. You'd also need an interior room tile set, and I'm not aware of where you can find one

@@sauceyaTTa thanks for the info! one more question; is it possible to add marts with the hg-engine? seem to work well with the normal roms but crash because of the arm9 expansion, will you make a tutorial for that one day maybe?

Could I somehow use this to allow for any starter from any gen to be selected at the start? Additionally, do you know of a way to add in additional pokemon to a soulsilver rom?

Yeah you can use this with hg-engine to make that first question possible. Your second question is probably a no, I would just use HeartGold and replace the title screen
