FIXED! Ender 3 Neo factory pre-assembly fault - solved in under an hour - and all still in warranty.

How to fix a faulty new Creality Ender 3 Neo 3D Printer yourself.
My printer was supplied with a vital part pre-assembled incorrectly - resulting in auto-home failure and all sorts of other problems. Creality support were no help, so I decided to fix it myself and in this video I'll show you exactly how. Taking about an hour, you won't need any tools other than the ones that came with the printer, and no extra skills beyond those required for assembling the printer itself - and a bit of patience.
Warranty update: Creality have replied to my email saying 'As long as you don't upgrade or modify your printer with unofficial parts, it won't void your warranty. Simply repairing your printer will not void your warranty.'

I just ran into this issue ,I thought it was something I did will be pulling mine apart tomarrow .thanks so much I didn't want to have to send it bac and wait to get a replacement.

Good luck. I guessed I might not be the only one. It isn't difficult, but does take a little while. Creality confirmed it does not affect the warranty, so go for it!

Creality finally got back offering a replacement - but only after I send this one back, requiring taking the whole thing apart and re-boxing - and then waiting for the new one. Still very pleased I bit the bullet and mended it myself.

Glad you found it useful! No, Creality not much help at all, although eventually they did offer a replacement - but only after I returned the original printer. Much quicker, and easier, to take apart and re-assemble correctly myself. The procedure isn't hard, but take your time and keep all your bits well organised! BTW I did get confirmation that this wouldn't affect the warranty. Good luck.

I did the mod but it still makes that noise and doesn't Auto home, Any suggestions?? Thanks

Does the print head move all the way to the left and reach the switch?

@@paterpracticus not quite it has coniptions and makes a horrible vibrating sound like it's gunna detonate,BTW it's just after 1 :AM and,and it's 30°C.Thanks for replying,I checked the wiring and found a leed that had y on it,but the Y axis on the limit plug bank already has a y lead in it ,so I put it on the other side as there was an empty plug,....

Phew, that's warm! I was going to suggest the wiring next. The switch at the left hand end of the x axis should have a three pin plug marked with an X - see 10:42 in the video. If the print head is reaching the switch, but not activating it, then it could be that it isn't fully plugged in. Otherwise, check to see if there is anything else blocking it from reaching the switch. Hope that helps.
