Fixed!- Lowrance Ghost Trolling Motor Wont Lock in Place

Excellent video, nice job! FYI: I recently noticed the transducer cord on my active target had a large cylinder right above where it goes into the transducer that I wasn't seeing on other Active Target transducers in vdieos on U -tube. But I also noticed some of them had this large cylinder on the power cord for the Active Targets. Inquired via Lowrance trying to find out what these cylinders were and why some had them and some didn't. this took numerious calls and texting to say the least. As it turns out they were ferrite clamps and the following is the answer I got from one of the Lowrance techs named Randy "The ferrite clamp is not going to affect your unit. The only reason some have it and some do not is in the packaging process. Once we started packaging for international sales a clamp was included. A ferrite clamp is required for international products but not for US sales". I was told by another Lowrance tech that Randy was a supervisor. I'm still in a quandary as to why they were required for international products but not for US sales. They help to eleminate interference I'm told?

That is odd. I have always seen them included. I did not know that some packages did not contain one. Thank you for sharing that.

Thanks, John. Video was perfect and I fixed the problem within 30 min. A trick I figured out, since I was solo and doing the work on my lift, was to use a heavy string loop to pull and hold the latch down while I put the head back on. Easy work!

Great video. My ghost is brand new so I went out to the shop and removed the 2 head bolts one at a time and used blue loctite and re installed. Don't want that happening on the water.

Thanks bro saved my day. Not sure how but happed to me during install. Was working good then after installing the stabilizer bar let it down and wouldn't lock in place.

Great video! My Ghost goes on tomorrow. I’m going to remove those two allen head bolts and put locktite on them to hopefully never have to fix it.

What does the Ghost look like when it’s ok and will latch

My ghost trolling motor is hanging up about half way back when I try to stow it. It appears to be hanging up somehow with the shock absorber. Do you know how to fix that?

I haven't seen that. But I would look it over really good and make sure nothing is missing or off center and spray that tube shaft thing with some sort of light oil.
