I completely understand throwing away things associated with bad memories. It feels like if you throw it away, then maybe something else will take on the bad memories, but in reality you just have to get rid of the bad sh*t to make more room for the good stuff.

Bunny, I also have anxiety (along with depression). There is something so comforting in knowing that you are not alone! When I started getting sicker and sicker around 2012 (autoimmune diseases, pain, and immobility), I noticed friends drifting away from me quite rapidly. Some people will come and go, but those most important , those who truly love you, will be willing to stick with you through anything! You're amazing! Remember that you can literally only do the best that you can do. You are safe, and you are loved - that's enough. And you are enough!! ☺️

That's a sign that she hasn't been able to connect deeply to anyone, especially during childhood, and now use things as a way to compensate those feelings you normally would connect to people you hold dear. With other words, she literally bond with things, consciously or subconsciously. Trust me, been there, still doing it. I'm really really really recommending the Konmari-method to anyone who recognize themselves in this. It has helped me a lot :)

Cleaning stresses me out but things looking cluttered also makes me feel very anxious. I can’t win! Throwing things away also makes me feel bad because of trash ending up in landfills. I am working on accumulating less stuff to begin with and I am hoping this will help the problem. Thanks for taking us on your drive, I liked that part of the video. It was interesting to see all the piles of stuff on the side of the road from the hurricane because I remember you talking about that in another video. Hope they have it cleaned up soon.

I am the same way, I have no issues cleaning things because clutter literally makes me have meltdowns I feel like my life is in shambles if it isn't perfectly clean. However then when it comes to throwing away I'm like what if I regret it later which has happened multiple times, or donate it because there still is use. My mind goes into 5 million different ways.

I understand how you feel about not wanting to touch/ move/ throw away things. My mom and grandmother died two days apart in 2016 and I realized I didn't want to change anything at all, even to throw things away, because changing anything meant that something was different from when they were alive. Buying new things was weird for me too, because it was something they didn't know I had.

Hey bunny! I guess I'll share my story because I don't want you to feel alone. Anyhow, as a college student, I've been suffering from extreme anxiety and panic attacks. I had a severe panic attack that scared me enough to do something about it, and now I am in therapy (I love my therapist) and got prescribed medication to help with my anxiety which would in turn reduce the amount of panic attacks I experience. I guess what I'm trying to say is that help is out there and I know you go through a lot of ups and downs and suffer from anxiety; you will feel 100x better knowing that you have the help, and that there is someone who is dedicated to listening to your problems and then in turn helping you ease them, so give it some thought! The brain is the most important organ in the body so we need to take care of it! Stress literally deteriorates the body! We all love you and be well!

IfYouMeetAWolf Konmari enabled me to truly understand and let go. i was able to think about each object and come to terms with its usefulness at the stage in life i was at. i have extreme anxiety, so the things i threw out i put in bags, and my mom graciously kept them in her garage for two weeks. i found that i only missed one shirt, which she retrieved for me, and i could donate the rest. making sure that i didn't miss any object also alleviated the anxiety i had associated with the permanent loss. it sort of justified in my brain that those things really weren't a part of me anymore, so when they were truly 'gone', i felt so much better.

Executive functioning goes downhill when you have depression and anxiety. It's exactly what you describe- knowing that you need to do the thing but actually being able to do it- that executive dysfunction. It's like being stuck or frozen at the thought of tackling it so you put it out of your mind or distract yourself from it as much as possible. I'm in therapy for this stuff right now so I totally get what you're dealing with. I've dealt with anxiety, depression and organizational issues since I was 9 years old.

My heart broke seeing piles and piles of rubble on the road side. I don't think people grasp the devastation of the aftermath. W In other areas we don't see the full effects after natural disasters longer than a few days in the news and since there were other hurricanes so close after, the long term devastation is passed by. I'm so sorry. I totally get the feeling about not touching things from anxiety then when I do finally chuck things causing anxiety, I feel bad cuz it wasn't that objects fault and I think what if it's sad lol duh. Its a double edge sword since I like organization and having a clean space, useless clutter gives me anxiety, yet moving it can drive me insane too. Aaaarrrrrgggghhh. Randall Ascot not if you don't want to. I went years without getting treated for panic attacks and I was fine. You CAN be treated but you don't have to be treated. And normal as in meaning a person has experienced the same thing.

I love coming here and being able to just feel more "normal" I always feel like every video you tell us more about you I see more of me and it's so great to know I'm not alone. I totally have that touching anxiety too, and I totally toss usable objects that I just can't deal with anymore. I always feel bad but I just have this thought that if I give it to someone else to use the negative will go with it... sometime I think I'm crazy but then I come here and feel at home. Love you, Bunny.

along the East Coast, hospitals accept knitted baby blankets, hats, booties, and gloves, as well as teddy bears and stuffed animals even if they're not packaged. i think with fidget spinners, you could easily call and ask if they'd accept them. they'd be super easy to sterilize-literally dump them in a bin of sterilizer-that it would be worth a shot.

Meghan B. Yesssssss! They used to smell AMAZING! But I don’t know if they could re-create that good smell! I also remember how much I loved how soft they were,& the bottom of their hooves had like a groove in them, like a hollow part, and as a child I would constantly feel the hollow and I loved the way it felt. It’s weird the things you do as a child, and then remember

My 13 year old brother has aspergers. He hates the feeling of water and has a super limited diet because of the texture of food. We struggled taking him out in crowds when he was younger because he thought anyone walking behind him was following him. He hates change; he freaks out if his daily plan is altered in anyway. It must be hard dealing with this kind of stuff day to day. I have OCD so I can't NOT move/organise things - it's so inconvenient! Strange how our minds work!

I recently completed a HUGE home clean out. Bags and bags went to Goodwill, and it felt great. I feel so much more mentally/emotionally clear. Basically I gave myself a mantra. If an object wasn't "serving me in this moment, right now," it went. How something is "serving" you totally can depend on what it is, but it was really helpful for me. 💚💚

Brittany Stafford chill, gurll! I don't think the comment was aggressive or anything... I read it as a suggestion and not an accusation. It's a good idea to use a reusable cup for someone that would use new cups at least 3 times a day (Bunny has said so herself she drinks a loooooot of tea) but she can do whatever she wants, also who is to say maybe she does recycle the plastic containers? Anyway don't go all overdrive for a KZbin comment

Bunny, I definitely can relate to your fear of moving and touching things that surround you. With my anxiety, I’m afraid to move things even an inch away from its original spot on my desk, bedroom floor, drawer, etc. I thought it was some sort of superstitious type of thing, but hearing of the fear from your perspective gave me an understanding as to why I am afraid of such a thing. When it happens, it feels as if I ask myself a million questions, like “is this a good idea,” “why should I move it,” “it’s been there for too long it should stay as it is,” and some strange thoughts pertaining to how my luck will change if I make a change to something’s position. As you said, hopefully many other people can relate or understand so I don’t feel like a crazy person.

Um, let's just say "I know someone" that has been diagnosed with OCD and anxiety and they have the exact same problem. Touching certain things or doing certain things makes them so anxious that they just avoid it all together. As an outsider looking in, I definitely use to think, just touch it!!!! It's really hard to understand why it's so difficult for some people to just let go or do something as simple as throwing away a paper towel in the trash can that is literally like 2 ft away! But seeing what that person has gone through, I know how tough and emotional it can be, and probably the hardest part is knowing its irrational but still not being able to control it.... just hope everyone knows they're not alone, and some people will judge, but others will empathize and say it's okay.... wow sorry, that was long, here's a unicorn 🦄
