Wow this is a completely different and new way to do this! I didn't hear or see you reference shrinkwrap one time! This didn't work for me in my current problem but thats because I'm already in too deep a few 1000 moves past my undo limit and a few too many destructive modifiers I anger applied. But this technique works perfect on a nice fresh rig that a sane person would have made :) Thanks for the share this was super helpful!

You are a life-saver. I have been manually weight painting when this happens and it doesn't always work using my old method. This works too with free-floating meshes such as laces on a shoe or buttons on a jacket.

Hello , When I parent Shirt to the Armature , And press apply Shirt fell down (But moving )..😢 What's the reason ?... Does anyone know about this problem

@@АсылгулТайлакова Are you maybe using cloth physics on the shirt? You have to apply pins to your vertices in the cloth physics tab. Also is this fall down over the course of frames played or is it instantly moving without playing back the animation? It could be that you need to apply your transformations before you parent the shirt.

One thing i want to ask you just select the t-shirt and then armature and cntrl+p then it will be work.but you are using modifier is there any difference ?

often the t-shirt doesn't line up with the body. idk why but this look like a really good solution Edit: I searched for answers and I think that the problem MIGHT be caused from the incorrect weight that blender gives at different objects (so different meshes) with "Parent with automatic weights". This solution is very good (I tried a few minutes ago and it works :D ) and what is happening here is that you assign the same weight of the body at the same correspondent part of the t-shirt, avoiding all mesh-related problems.

Hi, my model is one body (including the clothes) so I did make her t-shirt with sleeves by using the same vertex of the origin model (so I could use the same texture) however, when I apply this modifier it effect the sleeve but the hand goes outside of the t-shirt. I hope you got what I mean … please help

Amazingly, for me this doesn't work... The clothing on my character just can't be parented to the rig. Incredibly frustrating since this is an idiot-proof tutorial. Is it possible that parenting objects (e.g. the body to the clothes) BEFORE doing this is what prevents it from transferring data?

EDIT : So I've gotten the desired outcome to work by selecting all relevant objects, and using 'Voxel Heat Diffuse Skinning (VHDS)' via the ARP plug-in, and selecting "detect solidify" before executing the VHDS... Essentially, this bloke's method didn't work for me, for unknown reasons, and I had to use a plug-in to get around the issue.
