Awesome tutorial, this kind of stuff is getting rarer and scarce, not so many people share personal knowledge learned through time and patience this days, much appreciated my fellow angler friend.

Gorgeous floats, Victor! I will order some of these soon, if you still have them, to try with some hair jigs that I bought from a friend. I met a guy on the lake last week who is also into ultralight and the Z-Man Micro lures. I gave him a pack of your BG-1 jigs and told him to look you up on KZbin. He is gonna love those. I am also about to order a Kestrel reel. Once it arrives, I plan to order some of your grease to mod the drag sound like you showed in a previous video. That thing sounds ridiculously good and with the weight under 5oz, should be a perfect pairing with my 5’6 Presso rod. Hope you have a great week!

all points of this plan sound good to me! Thanks for sharing my jigs! The floats... i can't say u will catch more fish with them, but they are so pretty and sensitive.. i promise you will ENJOY using them and looking at the antennas!

@@ifishcatfish I have been meaning to dedicate time to learn more about float fishing, particularly for crappie. I suspect I leave a lot of fish behind when I cast around the perimeter of laydown trees. If I take more time and use a float, maybe I can pick up additional fish from time to time.

Just received my order to day of all sizes.Shipment packaging perfect.Looking at these very unique floats Iam not sure if I want to put them up on a shelf for decoration.Very pleased at first look.All components seem like something top shelf.Will post update when I can give a fair review.As of now,if you float fish ultra light at all buy at least the BG1 12 and floats.

I think the suggestion of buying sliding floats and pinning them in place makes sense. You really have both floats in one. Great idea.

Also a quick question, I just bought a pack of 1.25g floats with jigs in fixed. If I buy the slip floats it comes with one sleeve to convert to fixed. Do you sell extra sleeves?
@ifishcatfish8 ай бұрын
@@BobSmith-zh6it it does come with just one tiny piece as in the video, but i dont have extra. To tell u the truth i cut one of my carp rigs with the scissors so i can give u guys this. I ordered tubing from the vendor and should have that available in a month or so, but not right now.

Captain V your illustrations are captivating!!! You’ve outdone yourself 😂 I too use a fixed float more than anything. At least in regard's to pan fish.

Great floats! I was wondering if the fixed floats could work with thinner line like .128? Would I have to downsize on the surgical tubing to get the float to stay put?
@ifishcatfish7 ай бұрын
They will DEFINITELY work! But thin line will get you wrapped up around the guides and other issues. By the way i have spare tubing on the website. You can add one extra piece if need be, but these pieces are TIGHT even without line, so u r good

Even though it's been 30 years, and we're using different equipment I still get the concept. Even so, I really appreciate the update! I still need to place an order, but a few things I really wanted aren't in stock. Will you be getting more 23 Legalis bearings back in?

As someone that has done a lot of kayak fishing the need for a shorter rod is a fallacy. There might be a few techniques where a shorter rod makes more sense like working a jerkbait in a downward motion since you are closer to the water. For the most part rods should be the same for kayak fishing.
@ifishcatfishАй бұрын
Very interesting.. I actually thought that if i fished kayak I myself would probably fish the same rods because that's what i'm used to.. But people keep saying that..
@m14hh5Ай бұрын
@@ifishcatfish I guess at some point the extra length can make it a bit harder to land fish but I am thinking about an 8'6" and 9' trolling rod with dipsy divers for lake trout which can be tricky. I've done some fly fishing as well. It can all be done from a kayak.

I understand, but if your deeper than 4ft it's hard to cast fixed float
@ifishcatfish7 ай бұрын
if u have a 7 foot rod, like any of the daiwa Presso rods, 6 foot is no problem. Thats how i do most of my fishing

You know the fixed float is fine for shallow pan fishing but fishing 15 or 20 feet down for walleye it is not practical. There is a reason you find fixed floats in the pole float section at European fishing stores.
