Big difference in attitude working with something he knows front to back and really likes, and something he doesn't fully understand and doesn't really care about. Lots more fun with the tractor!

My Father had a 1948 8N tractor. It was an absolute workhorse! We had a bush hog we used with the PTO to cut the lawn in our field. We connected a plow blade to the 3 point hitch to clear snow. Just a great machine!

I worked for a marketing company that supported part sales for New Holland Corp, which owned the Ford tractor line at that time. (early 2000's). Parts for 8 & 9 N tractors were still a major seller even though they hadn't been produced for over 50yrs.

They are all worth fixing and restoring. I recently bought a 8N and I love it. Most of them need lots of work to bring them up to specs but they are definitely worth it. Parts are cheap and you can find them everywhere.

Same, His had a Sherman forklift attachment for his sawmill. Backwards steering was crazy to go from that to normal lol. And with the weight bias steering would get caught up on rocks in the yard, So you didn't hold the wheel tight.
