Wow, thank you so much for including me in your video! 🎾 This has given me a huge boost of motivation to train and improve. Maybe I should move my bed next to the court 😀. I’ll train hard 💪 and hope that one day we can also have a live training session together. Have a great day, Ashley, and best wishes with your channel. VAMOS! 🎾

As a young coach who is aiming to get better at coaching, this helps a lot. Never heard of anyone mention the 5 r's but makes a lot of sense for players trying to get more into match play more than just being able to rally. Thanks!

It’s a good checklist to go through with players of any level… some are easier to fix than others but if you can help players to execute the 5 R’s well they’re on a good path!

Hey mate, Thanks so much for including me in your video! and giving me some feedback. I’ve heard this advice from several coaches over the years, and it’s been super hard to implement. I think I read the ball correctly, I set my feet expecting the ball to be in a certain spot and then it changes, I end up being late and/or jammed up on the ball. it's a vicious cycle! Do you have any further advice to help me get better spacing?
@TheTennisMentor
@TheTennisMentor Ай бұрын
Something that I like to do with my players that struggle with spacing is get them to spend 5 minutes aiming to hit every ball as it falls, 5 mins aiming to hit every ball at the peak of the bounce and 5 mins hitting balls on the rise. This forces you to explore your spacing from the ball and will sharpen your ability to read the bounce. You’ll find that some balls will be unrealistic for you to let them drop or hit the peak etc but try your best to stick to the goal. Once you feel more comfortable with these three contact points, the next phase would be to train your decision making in when to execute each. Try this during your next warm up and let me know how you find it!

@@TheTennisMentorhey mate, just a heads up. I tried your drill tonight and it worked wonders! The guy I was playing hits quite flat so I concentrated on hitting the ball at its peak. I felt my spacing improve during the session. It gave me confidence, I won our match 6-3, 6-2. Which normally would be much closer. Thanks again 🙏🏼
