Thanks for sharing this match play. Enough of “ATP play” videos. We need more videos like this of real tennis by good but “normal” tennis players.

Yes please! More human tennis! Very good video editing by the way, it was very easy and enjoyable to watch.

Nice start! Could a slightly higher cam position would make the court clearer to see? It's hard to see white lines on light clay on a cloudy day. Looking forward to more of these!

The new coaching - expressing internal dialog, love it, as it's hard to introduce this teaching. So many young players are not as expressive (got the blarney yee two), great to see. Happy campers, we teach through oral transmission and by example. Shine on - crazy diamonds all.

Fun to watch. Poor Ollie had two things going against him. 1. Coaching for so many years without playing is brutal for your game. He needed some time to get comfortable again. 2. Grinders, retrievers and finesse players don’t age that well versus guys who have a weapon or two. Hard to grind long points without the legs…
@TheTennisMentor8 ай бұрын
You hit the nail on the head with those two points! We’ve played two more sets since and we both played a lot better! Ollie’s game requires a bit more fitness than my game and when he gets that back (along with a more consistent and accurate serve) he could cause me some trouble!!

Even though you had new balls .... the cold would not have helped with lack of bounce. Enjoyed both your comments. Thanks

You’re right… but no excuse for the level, we both just need to get on court more!!

More confirmation that everything sounds better with a British accent…including lightly berating yourself on a tennis court ;) . Great attitude and commentary in a very entertaining set. Thanks for posting!

Great to see coaches getting back into playing. Me and my tennis buddies use a can of balls about three times before opening fresh ones. To save money (and produce slightly less trash over time). On public hard courts in the USA.

Hi Ashley, it's the yulelog ( Harrison yule ). I think I would give u more of a challenge, and it would give me a chance to prove myself and to improve my tennis ability so if you want to do this, I will 10000% take the chance and play u and give u a run around

Wait... I recognise this club! I don't remember there being clay courts back in the day but that building shape is nostalgic. What a small world!

@@TheTennisMentor I played a few tournaments there growing up, so probably 15 years or so... I'm sure they were hard courts back then!

suggestion: if you can introduce your playstyle and background, plus racquet and string set up will make this interesting

This was great to watch. Real world match play the average player can relate to! What kind of level are you guys playing? Grade 3/county level I'm assuming? Great content👊

What is your and Ollie’s approximate NRTP level?
@TheTennisMentor8 ай бұрын
Good question, we don’t work the NRTP ratings in the UK so I’m not sure… but doing some reading up on it I’d imagine I’m currently around 5-5.5 (I’m sure some viewers may have a better idea!)
