Bought an used and broken engcon EC204 tilrotator that I was planing to use for parts for my homemade tiltrotator, but now I will try welding this one first. #Minimachines #tiltrotator #Engcon #Rototilt

great teardown footage. thanks for sharing. 30 years of development in that casting. lots going on in a tight package.

If it were me I'd be tempted to take the broken part to a specialist welding company who had the necessary preheat oven etc and experience to ensure a first class repair rather than risk bodging it. It looks to be well worth the charge. Hope it works out for you there's at least a sporting chance of success as an amateur welder.

I recently bought a 1964 John Deere 2010-series farm tractor dirt cheap. It is the 'utility' version with the front end bucket loader. My intention is to build my own backhoe, with an extendable stick. Having drooled over the tiltrotator videos in the past, i will eventually have to build one of those as well. I plan on using a 5-ton 4wd truck spindle/hub assembly. Rams and hydraulic motors can be bought cheaply from surpluscenter.com Having the servo-controlled hydraulic valves is a must. It allows you to do 5+ things with just one feed and one return line. Thankfully i know how to build my own electronic control system. Probably my hardest task will be machining the center 2-line hydraulic pass-thru. But it is a must-have for operating the rotator, the tool-changer, and the grabber.

Hej, vad ska man tänka på när man köper en tiltrotator, hur vet man att den passar för sin maskin?

A bit of a gamble to repair, but isnt this thing too heavy for your tc 25? Nice to see someone repair this type of machine, i was thinking to build one by myself too. For your excavator a ec02b is beter suited
@MiniMachines14 жыл бұрын
Engcon says it's for an 2-4 ton machine, but yes 116kg is much weight for the little terex. If I continue the homemade one it will be less weight for sure.

Great project very well done...! Could you possibly use an Arduino or Raspberry Pi for the electronics? It would be a shame not to utilise the Engcon electro valves.
@MiniMachines14 жыл бұрын
@@helipilot7055 Thx, yes it's possible to make an control for it, but than I need to buy new joysticks with an roller\potmeeter. When using the pedals in the excavator I can control the flow with how much I open the pedal, with the electronics I need to adjust how much power I send to the valve. But I have an plan that's easy I think will post Part 2 today where I go true that plan.

@@MiniMachines1 Now that you have the Engcon, will you still continue with your home built tiltrotator?
@MiniMachines14 жыл бұрын
Yes I will finish it during the winter, I have it now disassembled because I broke some bolts that holds the quick coupler, so will make an video building it from scratch now. And also I think the homemade one will be nice for building retaining walls since it's lighter than the engcon

What would a whole new casting cost?

Approximately 2000$

Are you sure the housing is cast iron and not cast steel ?
@MiniMachines14 жыл бұрын
In fact I found out a few days ago it's cast iron, and engcon confirmed it in an facebook post I had. So thats make the welding part a lot easier. Than I dont need to worry about preheating and slow cooldown. And I can weld other materials to it if I want for reinforcement.
@megape954 жыл бұрын
@@MiniMachines1 i think you mean that it is cast steel wich is good weldable, cast iron really isnt.
@MiniMachines14 жыл бұрын
Yes I it's cast steel 😁 I've tried welding it a little and seems to work great, got my new welder top day so guess this weekend it's game on 👍

vad ska man göra om en funktion inte funkar skopan roterar bara åt det ena hållet
@MiniMachines13 жыл бұрын
Har du styring fra engcon eller laget selv? Ene kabelen åpner flow andre kabelen endre retning så man må ha begge om man ikke snur på pedalen
@njutarn83813 жыл бұрын
@@MiniMachines1 har nog original den funkade alla 4 funktion men nu bara 3 rotera vänster men inte höger. och tilt funkar höger + vänster det kanske är nån kabel som lossnat
