Thanks for this! I ordered the bulbs. BTW, on the bottom, it shows "Rated Max Input: 5V DC 500mA" so that should help with finding the correct power supply

Oh wow, I totally missed that, thanks! My lamp is still going strong, though I have only had it plugged into the USB of my computer. I'll have to give an adaptor a try. Good luck with the repair, cheers!

I should say if 😅 I've never used a soldering rod. I do have one though! And my partner is a welder. But I like to try to figure things out myself first.

This is honestly the first time I successfully fixed something with soldering. My skills are lacking, but it's something I've wanted to practice and get better at. Glad this one worked out, though.

Nice, glad I could help! My lamp is still running perfectly. I never did plug it into a wall outlet, though, just the USB of my computer. I'm sure with the correct power brick, it's safe to plug into the wall, but I didn't have any with the right specs.

Sweet, glad the video could help! Yeah, when I first looked this up and saw how widespread the issue was, I hoped people would find the video. The fix itself is easy enough. It was actually finding the correct LED bulbs that gave me the most trouble. Good luck with the fix!

I’ve done this same thing, and the bulbs still burn out after about a month. I was hoping to find a video to replace the whole wiring for it. I want to gut it out & install a different light source.

Sorry to hear it. Mine is still working, but I do only use it via USB. Gutting it sounds like a fun project though.

@@flightofapaullo72 Right on, you're welcome. I think the main thing is using it mainly with USB. Someone else in the comments mentioned his replacement bulbs having burned out again after like 6 months. That hasn't happened to mine, and I'm speculating using a power adapter with this lamp hastens the bulbs to burn out, though I don't have any proof of that theory.
