I love going through the comments on this channel. So many Mooners are knowledgeable when it comes to auto repair, I know how to boil egg.

Add this to Molly's talents, still photography actress. I 100% believe this lady holding a Van Repair book is taking in and absorbing the new found knowledge with genuine interest. Makes me want to read a Van Repair book too.

That’s great Molly, Rainbow knows to do auto mechanic and diagnosed the oil leak. He was able to replace the oil sensor, removed the distributor. In my younger days I did all my tuneups, and regular maintenance.

let there be oil pressure !!!!

Yes, it probably is Tread Lock on the Old Oil Pressure Switch..! It is good practice to put a Medium Strength Tread Lock on Oil Pressure Switches As they can sometimes work themselves loose due to the Oil Pressure behind the switch..! 🤔🤔😇😇

Yikes! Good video. In your van, your alarm goes off when the pressure drop’s below 3 PSI (0.1 Bar). That means if that buzzer goes off, stop immediately and check your oil level. Any idea what caused your oil filler to melt? Did the engine over heat from running low on oil?
@VanOnTheMoon3 ай бұрын
I’m not sure why it melted, but one of my thoughts is that the hot smoke could have melted the plastic
@k_clack3 ай бұрын
@@VanOnTheMoon Interesting thought. I think there would have to be some serious heat generation close to the plastic for it to melt like that. How is it running now? Best of luck!

I rebuilt the 2.0 liter engine in my van last summer. There is not supposed to be a washer under the pressure switch, there is supposed to be a boot. There are not any valve stem seals on this engine either. Since the distributor was removed the engine needs to be retimed with a timing light (not by ear), you can quickly burn up this engine if the timing is off.

Thank you for the info ✊🏼✊🏼

I would expect there to be a crush washer included, no?

We did track down an original manual this past week to find out more, and it said to put a washer there, so we are glad we did

That debris/material might be old conductive grease like is used on air-cooled spark plugs.

That would be me standing there with the manual thinking "What the hell does this all mean"
