Fixing a Nintendo DS Lite

Here I restore a gloss black Nintendo DS Lite handheld console. This one had a few issues that needed fixing. The bottom screen was yellow especially towards the top, which required a screen replacement. There is still some yellow hue to the bottom screen which must be coming from the digitiser touch screen element, but it's still a good improvement. I also found that the A button wasn't working due to a torn button membrane underneath, so I replaced that also. I finished it off with a bunch of spot cleaning to get rid of dirt built up over the last 16 years or so.

This is still probably my favorite looking Nintendo console. Super sleak and satisfying when closed, but still functional and nice to hold when open. The solid square edges are super nice to look at. Well made video as always!

I love the videos! Do you buy these systems from surplus or online? Also which camera do you use for filming? The quality is always amazing!

Thank you very much! All the systems I find in various places online mostly. Camera is a Fujifilm x-t20, which is pretty outdated these days but I think it looks good still. 18-55mm fuji lens and rode go mic for audio

Mine has the stupidest fkn fault ever, i broke the power switch, not the actual switch, just the bit of plastic that sticks out of the hole, still works tho. Just need to shove the Stilus to turn it on

Oh wow, never seen that one haha. I'm assuming that plastic bit is replaceable after popping the back off it

@@RetrostalgiaOfficialit's got that > arrow and black plastic, well that connects to the switch on the board via a lil black tab, that's what broke, so to fix it id have to replace the actual switch soldered to the motherboard, but i never bothered, since it still works and it's my original console 🤷
