Dang! This video was amazing! Thanks for articulating the issues I also saw with how Pacey & Joey’s relationship evolved. Eventually Dawson became such an unlikeable character, it was hard to see how he had friends at all. Much less Joey pining after him romantically. It’s certainly a good bit of wish fulfillment, that someone will chase you and declare their love for you when you’ve invested so little time or energy in the relationship. But that’s why it’s fiction.

Agreed on everything, especially the fact that we never got to see much of the development of Joey's feelings and as a result it always felt like her changes of heart were way too fast. At the end of S4, after a very long and intense relationship with Pacey, she almost immediately goes back to "I've always been in love with Dawson". In S6, Joey doesn't seem interested in Pacey at all, until he kisses her and she suddenly has feelings for him again. And then a few episodes later, when it seems like she's genuinely falling in love with him again, she's like "actually I'm still thinking about Eddie"... in the castaways episode Pacey tells Joey he was hurt about how quickly she moved on from their breakup and she acts like he's being unreasonable and speaking out of pure ego but damn he was right. They were great as a couple, but I think the flaw in their arc were the "transitioning" periods (with the exception of S3, which overall was really well done). Still, one of my all-time favorite TV couples for me❤

My all-time fave couple on film. DC was on another level and PJs slow burn relationship 🔥 Great Analysis!

Well done on this video, I can see it took a lot of time and work! Pacey, Joey & Dawsons are indeed an iconic love triangle. Also love your sass 'anyone with a brain' lol. Pacey & Joey's relationship was so well crafted in s3 that I'm constantly comparing it other couples in other shows and thinking those writers need to take notes from Dawson's Creek. This is how you build a ship!

Even back then watching as a teenager, i would feel there were strange and unnecessary drags, probably it’s their way of showing indecisive in teenagers, but could’ve been executed better, I like your take!
