I use to use a 25cc Craftsman hand held and it worked well. But I've always wanted a bigger blower so I pulled the trigger and got a 63cc one. It was by far the best decision I made. I throw it on my back a blow away. What use to take me 2 hours now takes around an hour. Best decision ever. Great fix as always good Sir

The brass(?) primer bracket was different, maybe the layers of oil\dirt\fuel on it took the chrome finish off? The engine had a nice "pop" to it at idle, that usually makes me think it's a happy camper when I hear that sound.

that's a great question actually. I just bought an Echo PB9010T back in March 2022. The dealership had to order it for me, and i had to wait a few months on it. And when i get, whooo boy, it's a beast of a machine! It's 89/90CC's and it moves every type of yard debris without question. I probably didn't need something that large, powerful, and heavy (32lbs), but, man does it do an amazing job. Awesome repair as per usual IHG!

Great video. Glad to see another Shindaiwa getting a second lease on life. I've owned my Shindaiwa C350 Brushcutter since ~2000, and it's still running strong. Did some minor carb maintenance about 10 years ago, but that's pretty much been the only work needed to keep this device going. In hindsight, it was costly at the time, but a great investment for sure. These days, the ONLY issue I have is finding brushcutter heads that are compatible with this rig's unusual bolt configuration.

Always nice when its a simple fix. Question for you. The old flat head briggs engine. Is there a way to tell if the camshaft is ok without taking the engine apart or more so taking the crankcase apart. I have one that is not wanting to fire and it's got all the basics like spark, fuel and good compression at 125. It only seemed to pop off once even when using a drill to spin it over and using starting fluid and then sounded harsh like almost a backfire. Carb was cleaned out before and serviced but then if it was the carb it should still start when spraying the starring fluid down the carb. When I had the head off I spun it to see if the valves where opening up and sealing and also the flywheel magnets passed the coil as the piston was coming back up on the compression stroke so to me that should be meaning the camshaft is not broken or out of sync. But I guess I am wrong.
@lewiemcneely9143
@lewiemcneely9143 2 жыл бұрын
Pull the head and see how the valves are working. The pop/spit sounds like a leaking or stuck valve. I just pour some oil down the stem of a sticking valve and use a soft faced hammer to tap it back down so it seats fully again and also check the flywheel key but it sounds like a valve to me OR maybe a head gasket. They'll piffle and sput if the gasket has blown out.
@HomeGaragechannel
@HomeGaragechannel 2 жыл бұрын
as far as I know, there's no way to inspect the camshaft, without taking I out. did you check the flywheel key?

I've got a question regarding warm up. I have a Stihl blower, it's a step down from commercial grade. Decent machine! When I first start it and turn it to half choke, it seems to throttle the engine up as much as it can on half choke. When I switch it to no choke the engine idles as normal. So my question is this: should I leave the engine at half choke and let the machine run throttled up, or take the choke off and let it idle for a minute or two?
@olfreal
@olfreal 2 жыл бұрын
Turn choke off, and let it idle for 1 or 2 minutes, and support the warm up with some short half throttle running.

I would turn the choke off, after a short warm up, otherwise, if it's very cold, it would stop again.

they do the same, however if there's a leak at any point between the throat of carb and the engine, it might effect the test start. Great diagnosis, filming & fix. But perhaps a bit too much threadlocker. Here's what Loctite says "But one of the most common mistakes people make is to use too much. This can overfill the thread, leading to messy applications and overflowing assemblies ...When deciding how much threadlocker to apply, focus on where the thread and nut will be seated (locked in place) when assembled. Apply a few dots of your chosen threadlocker across this area."

I feel sorry for you Home Garage. Maybe you can find some friends and co-workers who machines actually WORK! LOL I'm totally joking. I don't know what I would do without my Echo backpack blower. It's about 20 years old and still runs like a champ. Absolutely go commercial if you get one. Have a great night.

@@HomeGaragechannel LOL! I don't leave negative comments. My mother used to say, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Love your channel.

unfortunately I don't think honda makes a backpack blower but if they did, I'd buy it too.

What you do is drill a hole through the cylinder block then toss that noisy polluting piece of shit right into the garbage. Then buy an 80V Greenworks backpack blower.
