Fixing a view master

Thank you so much for posting this video! My little ones found our old view-master and couldn't use it because it had a marble stuck in one of the eye-holes...(that's probably why they haven't played with it for years...) Anyway, I took out the screws hoping to fix it and get the marble out. I got the marble out but whatever I did, it totally messed up the view. It was showing 2 pictures that were not in good alignment. After finding and watching your video, you said that if I stuck the screwdriver in the hole in the middle, it would knock out or break the mirror... uggg, yup, I had put something in that hole. Hoping I didn't break the mirror, I opened it up again and put the mirror back in place (it must have slipped out the first time I opened it up and put something in the hole... oops!) Anyway, it worked! Your advice was spot on! Thank you so much! Now they can look at their old view cards. I really appreciate your help! Great video!

Hi. I do think this viewer is a nice one but have never seen the inside of one. Thanks for showing us the guts! I am a 11-12 grade graphics media teacher. In our photography unit, I show them how to shoot stereo pix. One of my students loves Peter Pan. I'm bringing a few of those reels and a viewer to school this week.

Awesome I have my view master on my science table, set up as an exhibit to stereoscopes. I teach 9 years or what we call Year 5 here in NZ. The looks on their faces when they use it is priceless!

Have you ever disassembled a model E viewmater?

No I haven't, it is my favourite view master and would be reluctant to open one up unless it really needed it. What's wrong with yours?

@@MrAshleysPlace I successfully took apart my model E yesterday and got my wife to video me doing it. The spring had snapped in half which is why I needed to get in there. Now I need to out it back together 😊
