Hi there! Your video on this bill is great! I have disassembled the unit but am a bit lost on one (four, actually) parts. At 5:30 off your video there appears just above the tiny ball bearing two springs and two small blocks with one and slightly curved. Is there any chance you recall what these are, and where to reassemble them? Thanks so much for taking the time to read this! Best, Paul Keating

Hi Paul, the two blocks are called brushes and the springs are what holds them against the rotor. The brushes and springs are located in the bottom section that is shown at 2:36. The brushes ride on the small bottom section of the rotor. At 2:57 you can see a black stripe on the small section. That stripe is from the brushes. The motor won't work without the brushes and springs in place. You have to assemble the bottom section, the springs/brushes and the rotor before inserting everything inside the body of the appliance. It was tricky for me to get them together because you need to compress both springs/brushes while inserting the rotor in between them. It's not impossible, just tricky. You need patience.

How good are the motors themselves? On eBay these units are like 20 years of age.

I don't know the history of how these have held up. Luckily, motors don't usually break, it's the other parts around them.
