I've rarely used Frequency Separation for editing skin (I have a different workflow) but seeing it here to fix the wrinkles in the clothes? That was an absolute game changer and I will now add it to my workflow when needed. As a way to say thank you, if you or anyone reading this weren't aware, you can create an inverted mask by hold ALT when clicking the mask button and it will create an inverted mask. Saves a step!

On Lightroom -> press O on your keyboard to see the selected mask (so you don’t need to overexpose) Great tutorial !

Your video is fantastic. But in all sincerity, I just can not grasp all of this editing on portraits. I have to learn it for my classes and feel so lost. I see why I just want to stick to landscape photography. But really your video looks great and a learning guide. One day I'll get it and understand all these layers, masking, separation frequency, etc. I took up photography to reduce my stress level, not increase it. My portrait courses, with editing (required) are a nightmare. Just got to push through and keep studying and practicing this editing stuff. I do like your channel, fantastic!

I am curious on why you painted the whole body instead of using the select subject features ? It would've take you 2 seconds to do a really clean selection.

Thanks, this is the level i am at, still trying to perfect "how much" these adjustments need to be on a specific photo. Sometimes delete changes and redo. 🤦‍♂️

Curious why u don’t use Select Subject in LR instead of brushing the exposure on your subject it is so much faster? Also if u do brush it on why not just select Auto Mask and it won’t paint off your subject? Curious that’s all:))
