Robin Clevett uses those but I have never felt the need for anything to help me lift a door onto its hinge cut out. Just stand it on its nose to locate the top hinge and it really is a doddle even with fire doors.

The fact he turned you down first means you charge top dollar to put them right. I personally would use the track saw to trim them. It’s much quicker than the planer and overall a neater finish. The door that needed hinges surface mounting really needed the frame piecing up and hinges recut, but I have ocd so maybe it’s just me😂. Those skirting boards are fantastic. He must have cut them with his teeth. Really bad!!!

@@retroclickmedia4422 if the head is not tru which it should be, then I'm afraid frame needs to come out and be rectified, fire chief won't pass it simple as that that's fire rules in Ireland anyway, 3mm even gaps the whole way around intumescent pouches for locks and behind hinges also alot has changed with fire doors and how to keep them certified, but don't get me wrong really enjoy the guys work and vids 👍👍
