Fixing Behringer UCA202 Win 10 update problems (June 2017)

It worked!!! Thank you so much for sharing the additional driver to help fix this problem. I'm using Windows 11. Yes, I was kind of worried about the download link for the USB audio driver not coming from the Behringer website, but I was more desperate to make my UCA222 work. So, I checked with another video just to confirm the file type to download and created a RESTORE Point just in case anything goes wrong and scanned the files twice while zipped and unzipped just to be sure. Then proceeded to install.

This is fantastic! Thank you so much. I've been struggling for months to figure out why I was not recording full stereo through my Behringer UFO202 and installing this older driver records clear, stereo sound now. Had to find a different site to download the driver, though; watch out for the ads and just click on the zip file name "BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40.zip" (download.driverguide.com/driver/BEHRINGER+USB+AUDIO+2.8.40/Behringer/d1689351.html)

The link for the driver as of June 2022 is no good. I have a Behringer UCA-202 and it's not working for me with Windows 10. I need to find something more up-to-date to replace my Behringer UCA-202. I think Behringer is outside the United States. They sell alot of gear in the United States. I'm not sure how to get support for Behringer Products. If anybody knows if Behringer makes a device to replace the UCA-202, I need to know.

The download has to be hunted elsewhere but it's still in some driver sites. The installer failed for me, but I went into Windows Device manger and found the driver under Other USB devices, and using Windows Driver update feature and selecting the local download folder were the behringer installer had run and failed from , it was installed.

I had the problem, that I only could record a mono signal with the Mikrophone USB input. I find out that you have to change it manually to 2 channel 44,1 khz input. You find this item in properties tab of the mic adjustment. Before it was: 1 ch 16 khz. Change it! Maybe a message appears, that this process is busy. In this case you habe to deactivate the analog mic of the PC Soundcart. Than you are able to save the preset, mentioned above. Also look at the gain of the mic, in some cases it is at100%. That ist to much. Correct ist about 50%. Now i have a nice clean sound with this adjustment that look like „wrong“.

what do you do specifically to deactivate the analog mic of the PC soundcard? I have the same problem, I cannot change the interface channel settings from 1 to 2 because i always receive the error message device is in use.

I am using Audacity to record from an old tape drive through the UCA 202 and into a USB port. I am using the USB Audio CODEC microphone device driver that was automatically installed (or selected) when the UCA 202 was first plugged in. The levels and sound quality seem fine, so what would the advantage be to installing the driver you suggest? Thanks.

Sadly, there appears to be no way to download it from the linked page. Getting a driver from someone other than the manufacturer, seems incredibly risky, these days. Did Behringer replace it with a newer driver version, or just drop it all together?

Thank you for your clear video on the UCA222. My system also could only recognize the microphone input until I installed the driver as you detailed. However, I still get extreme clipping when recording to Cool Edit 2000. (I know, it's old, but it does a fantastic job restoring old vinyl). I have used an Xtel INport up to this time, which has worked very well, but I thought a newer AD converter might be better. The clipping occurs at ALL settings of the volume control, just at a lower recorded level. I suppose I could try to potentiometer the level down when feeding the UCA222 but that seems wrong. If you, or anyone, has an idea, I would sure appreciate being made smarter. Thanks

When I added the UCA202 to my new Windows 10 laptop, the master volume was being bypassed. I tried the latest ASIO driver to no avail. I followed the recommendation here, going back to the 2.8.4 driver, now it works fine. I did have to unpack it before the install was successful, it would not install from the compressed folder.

Sorry, that was so long ago. I think I just unzipped to a directory and ran the setup. I don't have that computer anymore. I now use it with a Macbook. No volume control on the Mac either. I'm feeding an old 2.1 system with SPDIF, so I just have the unit under my desk (sitting on the Sub) where I can reach the volume control.

No need to setup a new driver for me. System recognised the soundcard line-in as a 1 channel microphone. I changed advanced microphone settings from (default) 1 channel to 2 channel stereo. And problem solved, now i can get stereo recordings. settings>system>sound>input(microphone) device properties>additional device properties>advanced>default format

2020 update: I think a different driver is needed. "microphone" is fine as long as you change the window recording device setting from mono 16Khz to stereo 44.1 or 48 Khz. Please check, change and it's fine with the default driver.
