*To avoid being shocked* The part at the bottom of the camera that looks like a small battery with wires is called a capacitor and it is what holds a charge that can shock you, if you take the metal part of a screwdriver and touch it to the ends of both wires on the capacitor, there will be a big spark and a loud bang but it is completely safe, and this will completely remove the chance of being shocked, just for anyone that may want to know! Omg this helped so much. My old batteries leaked acid on the inside so I had to take it apart. But I wasn't sure which pieces went back as some flew out when opening ! Your close ups helped so much!

Thanks for the video and will try to get some alkaline batteries and try. About the shocks its probably due to capacitor holding the charge and can be up to hundreds or thousands of volts. It is used for the flash. Yes it will shock if you offer it a discharge path. It best to give it some time to discharge without battrties for 24hrs before opening it or avoid touching the areas known to offer the discharge path.

Hi so i was dumb and i broke the dial for the light settings for my mini instax 7s because it wasnt moving and i thought with a little force it would be fine but no. the capacitor (black cylinder) and attached contacts are what shocked you they are for the xeon flash bulb circuit because it needs to store alot of power and then release it suddenly for the flash (this obviously means that when the camera is off the power can still be present) Imagine a capacitor as a water tank filling up and then a gate suddenly being opened to let it all out when you press a button.

Honestly this camera is really wishy washy a good rule of thumb is when outside set to the sunny mode for sure and when inside set to the indoor/house mode.

If you pop off the front cover, it may be that a small piece snapped off one of the plastic lens covers. You can super glue it back together like she did with the shutter button, and then just place them so that they fit together and cover the lens. It should work, there aren't any springs I can see.

So I tried taking a picture with my camera and it didn't work! All I got were blinking red lights. So I put new batteries (energizer) in and it still didn't work. It made no difference. Omg That happened to me too. I was in the middle of capturing something from a vacation when suddenly the lights keep blinking ,I literally click everything like the shutter button and even open the cartridge and battery but nothing happens . then when I went home I Tried to open the battery again and put it back on. then it works but the film turns out to be white cause i exposed it :( . I believe its on the battery , try to take it off then bring it back.

Hi, what an interesting video ! I am having an issue with my instax mini 9, so since you seem to be quite knowledgeable about it, i'm gonna shoot my shot hoping you or your community has any clue what to do. I have shot 4 pictures with my camera so far, and out of the 4 only one developped correctly. The other 3 came out white and then developped fully black. I have a hunch it might have to do with a faulty shutter, but i really don't know... I bought it second hand, though barely used by the previous owner, but still, I don't think that makes me elligible for warranty from fujifilm or anything... Hi! A film got stuck and after removing it, it won’t capture anymore and the light kept on blinking and I have changed batteries a lot of times already. I figured out that the metal thing at the right side of the camera (seen when there is no film) is not down where it usually is. Its probably the shutter. Check if the shutter is opening when you take pictures, it is probably it. I haven't found a fix, but if I do I'll try to post it here :/

Hello! I have the flashing lights issue (to my understanding it means error, now to find the error! Haha). I opened my camera and when I press the shutter button nothing happens and the lights flash. I found the mechanism thingy to the side of the lens that actually opens the lens to capture an imagine but it doesn't open when I press the shutter. When I move it and press the shutter at the same time it opens and the flash works, however there is no sound of picking up film or rollers :/. Would you have any way to help me? I don't know if the only issue is the mechanism that needs to be fixed or more. Would be able to help me ? Thank you! And thank you for your video! you probably touched the discharge ports/terminal above the flash. the camera has a very large capacitor that stores electricity that would be used for the flash. once it discharges the electricity inside the capacitor will be discharge and you wont be shocked.

Barley used recently tried using it for some reason then motion sensor to change setting doesn't work for me. Khadijah Jones take out the film, and put a new one on, the film might be stuck to the camera. It happened to me and i just took it out, put a new one in and it did work again

Hi! What should i do when the film got stuck in the camera? I just refilled it with new film cartridge and when i take a shot with the first photo (sample photo/the black one/the thing that covers the whole film) it got stuck and it didn't come out. hey so my girlfriend has an instax mini 7+ we put a film in the wrong way and went to take a picture now the little lever that pushes the picture out of the camera makes a clicking noise as soon as you turn in on and the orange light on the front rapidly blinks. I looked messed around with it for about an hour to no avail do you have any ideas? if so it would be greatly appreciated.

With the long spring that attaches the case and the mechanical inside part, is that essential as I took my camera apart and I’ve lost that spring. Thanks x

Fia Ruiz you need to put good tje batteries that happend to me i coudent use it forma 1 day and it was TVE batteries
