That Gold Zelda New 3ds definitely looks software modded. So it may not be safe for someone to try and play online, assuming the online services for 3ds are still running.
@DanCampos872 сағат бұрын
The services aren't running anymore, as far as I know, I had a modded 3DS and it worked fine, I even downloaded updates for some games without issues
@MyRegardsToTheDodo14 минут бұрын
It is definitely modded, Steve should probably format it before he sells it, because it has tons of bootleg games installed on it, and especially for a professional seller it's probably not good to sell those bootlegs. Could be worth more as a modded console, though (without the games on it).
@DanCampos873 минут бұрын
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo Yeah, would hurt his rep. But I don't think that the mod add value, here on Brazil folks asks for lower price if modded

Sometimes ebay is funny, especially when the sellers have no idea what they're selling or just don't care. I got an Xbox 360 Slim two days ago that had a really wonky description and bad photos. It was sold as defective, PSU having a red light, with two controllers, one of which was supposed to be a chrome red one. That one was missing from the photos and also spelled really off. It was 20 Euros + 7 Euros shipping (30ish USD or something like that), so I bought it, just for the chrome edition controller alone. And it indeed came with an original Chrome Red controller in pretty decent shape. Both controllers also had batteries in them, all with a best before-date of 2020, luckily they hadn't leaked yet. The console turned on with another PSU, the PSU was indeed defective, but the console itself acted kinda weird during it's first boot up. And when I booted it up for the second time, I understood why, when I got greeted by the Freestyle 3 logo. I had wanted to get a RGH Xbox 360 for some time now, so I was super happy to get one for that price. I have a browser tab open with ebay listings for defective consoles and buy it now options, sorted by newest added and I check it every now and then. Made some really good bargains that way, really easy fixes or consoles with games that were worth way more than what the seller was asking.

3:18 - Just throwing this out there. I've done it before and it worked. Set your electric oven to the lowest setting and put the screen in as it preheats. Then take it out after about 5 minutes. If there's any water still in there, it'll dry out.

For extremely small trace repairs, like the one on that DS screen ribbon cable, I've actually just teased out a single strand of wire from solder wick and used that. But excellent fix! The Zelda New 3DS looks like it may have been hacked. I saw SNES9X on it, which is an SNES emulator.

I just fixed a DSiXL Bordeaux Red that I had bought in March and totally forgotten about. The bottom screen wasn't working (at all, bottom screen didn't turn on) and for some reason the seller had added three new digitizers. Opened it up, put the ribbon cable for the bottom screen back in, works perfectly. It's missing one of it's rubber feet, otherwise it's in very nice condition. Still don't know what I'm going to do with the three digitizers. Also unpacked another DSiXL Bordeaux Red that I had bought around the same time, but this one is pretty much dead. The water indicator is pink-ish, but I don't see any water damage on the board itself. The case is pretty much ready for the recycling bag, it's broken in multiple places. I won't bother with the screens, the ribbon cables for the upper screen are torn anyways (half of the cable was still attached to the board, the screen itself wasn't). It also came with a bag of parts, rubbers (sadly not the rubber feet) and screws, and for some reason a lone coil, that was marked "01". I suppose it was knocked off the board, but I can't find where. I've looked at multiple photos I found online, but I can't find any missing components on my board and I also can't find any place where it should go on the board. I found a coil on the board that's marked "02", so I guess the "01" should go somewhere, but no idea where. The charging port on the board is also shot. If I ever get another defective one with a dead board I might get the charging port from that board and check if this board still works, but I won't bet on it.

I've seen 2 channels use trace repair kits. It's basically a trace that you can attach and trim as needed. I've seen it used to repair high end geforce 4090's and even SSDs. You could do something like that on this ribbon cable. It would be super thin.
@awilliams17012 сағат бұрын
don't get me wrong, that was madly impressive, but I think the trace repair kit option would be more likely to work in the future.

Would you happen to know the possible reason as to why the C-Stick is stuck down on a New 3DS? The one top right from the screen where one can put a Lenovo rubber tip on. The problem has so far persisted when removing the c-stick, swapping the xyab-board, taking out the other directional things. Even removing all directional inputs, the C-Stick ist recognized as pointing down. I even tried to drown the motherboard in IPA. The New 3DS had no contact with any liquid. It will crash when trying to open the camera. That might be a hint.
