Here's the thing: As a manually hard-working farm woman I'm not interested in artificial nails or manicures in general (so what's up, algorithm?), but your brush control, steady hands and craftsmanship are impressive, and your finished product looks artful, clean and expensive. So, mad respect, dear Tatyana. 🌼

Gel manicures are not artificial nails. It's just a very durable polish on your natural nails. I garden and my manicurist does such a great job that my natural nails are even stronger now. Gel polish also has no dry time after they're cured so you can put your hands right back into the dirt!

That's it. That's the type of mail tech you want. Low key in the background types with very few clients. We don't do 30min sets back to back. It's hours. Of course you will pay extra for cuticule work (comby manicure) bcs it takes time to do it..for example, i dont give a choice to my clients to choose it, i just do it bcs i can make my work done betrer and it is included in price. But in some salons, you can choose if you want it or not..

You can request to have them leave your cuticles alone. I personally just soften, wipe away, and push them back just to clean up the nail bed and honestly, mine don't look much different than the client's in this video. It's just recommended because they take up space on the nail bed. You'll look like you had your mani done a week before even though you just finished them. Unless you're painting over them, which isn't recommended because it'll cause your polish to lift. In my years of doing this, I have never gotten an infection or had any issues.

I don’t like seeing all the cuticle being cut away like that...surely the cuticle is there for a purpose, to protect the nailbed and stop infection getting under the nail....?

I am so in love with this end result! That previous tech should be retested or have their license revoked😞 what a shame! I've already been interested in cosmetology for pretty much my whole life, but never went to school in fear I would waste time and much money on schooling I dont need for a job or career.... After at least a few years watching educational content online on the topic and now after viewing this! I feel like this video helped me make my final decision and I really want to become a licensed nail technician, I find the art of it so fulfilling and now I can see myself truly enjoying the work, even while I have Fibromyalgia. Thank you for making this!

Somehow, someway, these nail techs need to know about the crappy job they do after the fact. 🙍🏽‍♀️ Not only was the apex HUGE, one nail had already lifted completely off!! Beautiful corrections! I really like the detail and how steady of a hand you have when you were doing the designs!

Not when it hasnt been that long between sets. To much filing and pulling on the natural set isn't good. We get 60 layers of plates (edited said cuticle that was an accident). Protect them as best as you can.

i really want acrylics and my first time at a nail place was bad. i was just getting gel polish and mind you i already am very self conscious especially about my hands and my skin, so going was a huge leap of faith for me. when i sat down they started looking at my hands and speaking in their language which made me feel awkward, and then finally my nail lady giggled and said, “your skin’s so dry!” and proceeded to put heaping amounts of lotion unnecessarily all over my arms and hands. so. awkward. i haven’t gone back since.
