I had this issue with my leon. Seems like a common problem in the VW group by the looks of it. Drilling a hole into the grey box and spraying wd40 in it worked for me. My back lock totally ceased up though which took a little more sussing out. Full inside door off for it to pop open then not close again 😂 that rear door was a nightmare. They all work perfect now though

I had the same door lock issue on my Audi A3, hardest bit is removing the door card. One little tip: when attaching the linkage arm from the door handle pull on the handle very slightly while snapping the clamp around the link. This stops any rattles as it leaves the linkage under tension. Don't lift the handle too far otherwise your door will not latch shut at all!

You did well to get the wiring harness off the coil packs without snapping anything. I had to do this job on my S5 V8 last summer and it was a pain in the arse getting the leads off the coil packs without damage. Agree about the plugs. I found a set of actual official Audi service plug set (all 8) on the bay and they were just rebranded NGK Irridiums with the standard gapping, nothing unique or clever about them.

Those sport air filters have bad reputation around in Germany, because of micro dust they can't filter and then those particles causing some wear to turbo etc.
@dbergreen5 жыл бұрын
I've heard the main failure with those is people don't spray them with oil or whatever they're supposed to be treated with
@gamefoorum5 жыл бұрын
@@dbergreen yeah I've heard about it as well, but mostly in relation with so called "cleaning" air filters , those are not meaned to be replaced like standard ones. I'm not an expert, just happen to live next door to community of runners, crazy BMW owners ( as I'm BMW owner as well ) , car shows , drifts etc. So from day to day talking I've picked up that those sport filters mostly do make a bit thicker sound and that's basically it. As filtration ability is really bad small particles of dust can rub around turbo for example and such. Not like it destroy anything right away but definitely it's not doing good job as air filter

Hi Mat I bought a 2006 S6 5.2l V10 in March this year for £6.5k - former Cat N write-off repaired - with Miltek exhausted. Lots of the same faults you've already mentioned and more surfacing every month. She's very demanding. I've been "unblacking" my S6. Returned to a stock grill, took the film off the brake lights, because there's lots of chrome trim round the window, mirrors, etc. which seems too much hassle to black too, and actually with so many "black" versions of cars on the road I felt it actually made more of a statement to have the chromed original styling. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your S5 though.
