I fixed my ps4 slim with a 1tb Samsung 870 qvo ssd and the little feet. That back fan is more likely to hurt than help. Instead just keep your system clean and leave it where there’s open air so it gets optimal airflow.

If you're gonna worry about heat, replace the interal blower fan, not add low powered exhaust fans, that not only create more turbulemce and block half the exhaust, but have an airspeed that is most likely less than the internal fan, not adding any extra thermal performance. You could at least put those fans underneath to give a purpose to the pointless risers.

Why not use a SSD SATA 2.5 on the PS4 it supports it and it makes load times way better. Reliability goes up because there's no disk spinning, warzone with the HDD, there would be loading textures and my gun still is not loaded in while mid fight which got me killed a lot of times. With the SSD, game textures and guns are already loaded in, this works great for battlefield 4.

@@serene2620 I argue that SSD are more reliable, there's no spinning disk, if you drop it your screwed, a simple scratch is all it takes, and it heats way more. But the Samsung SSD's are the ones with more reliability issues than other SSD manufacturers. Edit: The AFR or average failure rate is lower on the SSD than the HDD.

Firstly My ps4 has a 1Tb hdd standard. And after 7 years my ps4 has never had any problems or issues. There is no need for additional cooling. If your Ps4 is using the original power cable with good enough consistent power supply and is kept in an open area then there wont be any problems.

1. You replaced a HDD... with a HDD. Games won't load any faster. Buy an SSD. 2. The legs if anything covered ventilation on the side. There's no ventilation on the bottom so nothing changed, and if it did, its in the wrong direction. 3. Actually did something, but not too much. The limiting factor is how quickly you can move heat away from the processor. Ramming more air thru the heatsink *could* do something, but not enough

If your ps4 is overheating, clean the dust inside and reapply thermal paste. You can do this once a year or half if you're not confident. Don't put unnecessary cooling fans. Also those stands do nothing, no idiot would design a console where airflow is at the bottom. Nothing wrong with using hdd if you're patient for loading times like me, use sdd if you're impatient.

If you are going to state "fix everything" go all out, replace thermal paste, replace hdd with an ssd, remove all the covers and 3d print a new case thats better for airflow intake (if possible), replace the internal fan with a higher spec fan with the same power draw and add a second fan that cools the psu separately from the heatsink, and finally, you can open all the games faster and play them at the same performance, while still turning the room into a boiler just quieter and quicker, as it still has the same or greater thermal displacement into the room. Or, alternatively, you could just leave it be and actually upgrade to a system that performs worlds better, like the ps5 or a budget desktop if you want better performance for the same price as the ps5.

I put a 2tb mx500 SSD in my wifes ps4. Dont use rear mounted cooling fans, it makes the internal temperature sensors misread the temps, ive had them inadvertently kill consoles before

If you really wanted to fix what's wrong with PS4, you open it up, replace all the cheap thermal pads and even cheaper thermal paster with quality pads and graphite foil for the cheap paste, you could take a step further a replace the factory blade fan with higher bladed fan, but stopping at the graphite foil and pads will make your system run cooler and much quieter.

The main problem with the ps4 is the input lag which isnt fixable. A ps4 has around 50 ms more than the ps5 and 100 ms more than a pc which is a huge disadvantage
