Wow! You’ve made it look so easy and these instructions have probably saved hundreds in labour at the caravan dealers workshop thank you 👍🏼

I like a challenge Barbs and my technical mind helps solve problems 😁. Bear in mind the extras on our toilet are not standard. The electric blade is a factory option, but only if a new toilet is ordered / purchased to replace an existing toilet. The marvellous ventilator kit which includes the multi level waste indicator is widely available as a retrofit. Thanks again for watching, Rob & Gail 😀

Hi Rob, I’ve bought parts for jobs before and then realised it’s something else! Glad you got it sorted in the end. Stay safe, Martin

Hi Martin, Looks like I've got a spare fan now, but yes all sorted and ready to roll. I guess we're all looking forward to our first trip of 2021. Thanks for watching and take care. Rob

Had this exact problem last week. Sc263. Sw model part number 93405. Difficult to identify and not common. However, just replaced the faulty switch panel and all good. Thanks. You saved me the cost of a fan which would not have been needed.

Hi David, The fault naturally points to the fan, you wouldn’t have thought it be the panel. Good to know my video has come in useful. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Rob

Hi Colin, Believe it or not all these were available on the older C250 model which was discontinued in 2011. Thanks for watching and take care. Rob

@@robswiseways5697 So whats the purpose of the fan then?
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
@@1larfinboy The fan extracts odours out of the cassette. One of my very first videos explains how it works. Just search Thetford cassette toilet electric ventilator. Thanks for watching Christopher. Cheers. Rob

My money would have been on the fan too Rob. A bearing coming to the end of its life, at least it fixed now pal. Fingers crossed we can all get out sooner rather than later. Cheers for this one. Mart.

Hi Mart, Everything pointed to the fan but I'm pleased I only had to change the board in the end and not take the toilet out. Yes we're all in much need of a good touring holiday or two. Thanks for watching and stay safe. Rob

Hi Rob, I bought and managed to install one these three days ago. Your previous video was really helpful. Thanks a million. But since then, the "cassette missing" light is blinking all the time, even when I put the cassette back in. More worryingly, I am testing it by flushing water into the cassette, and I am afraid that it is spilling around. When I remove it, there is quite a lot of water in the cassette's board. Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
Hi Javier, The blinking light could mean the reed switch isn't correctly in place or the magnet in the float inside the cassette has become dislodged. To check the float you have to open the top of the cassette by rotating the round cover. There is a small cylinder shaped magnet in the end of the float. As to the water, has the flush pipe come loose under the bowl inside the cassette compartment? Is the round seal in the cassette opening ok? Has water got into the reed switch? Hope this helps. All the best. Rob

@@robswiseways5697 Hi Rob, this has been really helpful again. I checked the white cylinder and it seems fine. The reed switch was too loose, that was all. I have now placed back into its small brackets, that had became wider after installing the fan, and the blinking light is now off as it should! You are a star! Thank you

Rob I'm wondering if there was a way of testing for electrical continuity of the fan whilst in situ so you can determine if the fan is at fault or the panel?
@robswiseways5697 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, Today I tried a good 9v smoke alarm battery and connected it to the fan plug simply by using a short piece of thin wire. I used the new fan (now spare as per video) and the fan came on 👍. This would be the best way to test the fan. I should have done this in the video but I naturally thought it was the fan at fault. Hope this helps, Cheers, Rob 😀

Great Video Rob. Just looking to fit an SOG kit,but i think this might be a better alternative. Some people have said the fan is loud ,can you give me your views please. Thanks again.
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
Hi William, It’s not a problem during the day but it’s more prominent in the silence of night. At night close the bathroom door before turning the fan on. Alternatively you could immediately turn the fan off as soon as its activated but doing this lets odours rise! Overall it doesn’t bother us, we’ve never had a problem. I wouldn’t say its loud but it can be heard. Personally we wouldn’t want to be without it. Hope this helps. Cheers, Rob

@@robswiseways5697 Cheers bud. Now I have to decide if I want to drill a hole through the floor, or go for the SOG and drill through the cassette access door. Lol. Decisions, decisions.!!!

Hi Rob don't know if you can help but my electric blade motor has packed up where could I get another please?
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
Hi Carl, The part number is 93415. The pack comes with the bracket, gear wheel and screws. I would double check at the wiring plug near the motor to see if there is power when the button is pressed as it could be the control panel. As you saw in this video I thought it was the fan but turned out to be the panel. If you need a new control panel the part number is 50711 although mine was 93406 but make sure it's the FF control panel. I ordered my parts from www.leisurespares.co.uk. Hope this helps. Cheers. Rob
@garydsouza23353 жыл бұрын
Is that an extra when ordering, because my 2015 van has one light for full only
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
The multi level waste indicator is part of the control panel for the ventilator or the electric blade. The reed switch will have to be changed inside the cassette compartment. I show this in one of my videos. Search in KZbin for Thetford toilet electric ventilator. If you didn’t want the ventilator, you still need to change the control panel for a ventilator one (two button panel) and then change the reed switch. The ventilator is a kit or you can purchase control panels / reed switch separately. Hope this helps. Rob

Problem is they make these pcb’s to the same standard as in any domestic environment, and they aren’t up to the extremes of temperature and condensation found in leisure vehicles.

You've got a good point there Justin. On the odd occasion we've had trouble with the omnivent too, but tends to put itself right. Thanks for watching and take care. Rob
