Welcome to the channel Dean it’s great to hear you’re finding my videos interesting 👍. This was one of my first videos and although the facts are there I have improved my presenting skills slightly since then 😂😂. Please bear in mind there is no retrofit kit for the blade but we can highly recommend the toilet ventilator kit. @@robswiseways5697 yep I've watched quite a few vids now. Unfortunately our caravan is a bit older.. 2006 bailey with a c200 toliet... So the c250/260 ventilator kit wouldn't work from what I've gathered. I do know there is a sog system which does a similar job although I'm not up for an ugly vent on the side of my cassette locker door.

Hi Rob I need your help. I have all the pieces, and I have create the power cable, that is not available as spare part. So I found the plug used by thetford, I have the cable and the plug for the motor. the issue is where tu put the plug on the electric panel. I try to study your video and is on the socket near the big main connector with power. but there are different gold line, i sow you put on the right side, nearest to the main connector, but which the right connector, which is the plus and minus. the plug i found is not the one used from thetford for the electric blade but a generic one I'm trying to adapt. but i need e detail of which metal line use. I hope you understood what i mean. if there is a way a can make some picture of what i mean. can you help me? this could help also people like me try to add the features in after market, with thetford that doesn't (and i really don't understand why) provide as spare.

@@micheleriva2775 I've only now read your question. I built the plug for the motor myself. It's only on the 2 contacts of the control Panel that you can see on Rob's video at 1:38 (of the 5 contacts, the two on the right). Soldering would be an alternative. However, you have to try the polarity, otherwise the motor will run the wrong way around. Dieter

hi i am awaiting the motor from Leisureshopdirect. been over a month now. i have a question... what tells the motor the direction to drive the cog. Do i set the motor in the open position for the toilet blade or closed. and lastly what stops the motor running. when the blade is closed or open. i managed to find the PCB plugs off ebay ..
@robswiseways5697 Жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, I’m not sure but I don’t think in matters. I think when the blade is fully open or fully closed either the motor or the control panel senses this and cuts power. I think the reason the button has to be pressed twice when first activating the control panel is because it senses it is at its limit, so it then rotates in the opposite direction when the button is pressed again. The button only requires pressing once to open or close when the panel is active. I’m guessing this is because the blade has already been operated and it’s still in its memory until it times out and powers down. Hope this makes sense. I’m surprised you’ve found plugs on eBay, this is good news 👍 Cheers, Rob

Rob, i thought you mentioned in one of your videos the flush water tank indicator on the c250 with 4 button control panel. Do you have any info on this function as I cant find the parts? Cheers
@robswiseways5697 Жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, Yes, the flush tank low water indicator is only found on the C250. I was told it wasn’t carried over to the C260 because the water pump fits inside the flush tank and not possible to fit the low water device but on the C250 the pump fits outside the flush tank so the low water device can fit inside the tank. The C250 was discontinued around 2011. I haven’t dealt with this before and I cannot find anything related to this on the parts diagram. You can download the parts diagram from the Thetford website. The C250 and C260 control panels are the same. I found this contact email info@thetford.eu but cannot find a phone number on their website. Sorry I cannot be of further help with this but hope you find what you are looking for. Best regards, Rob

Hi Rob. Thanks for the fantastic video. I couldn't find anyone in Germany who could help me with the electric blade. Now my project with the conversion of the C263s: I connected all parts (control panel 50711, and motor 93406) with a wiring loom I built by myself. I think the connection is correct. Now my problem: In the test setup (motor not installed) the motor starts and also changes the direction of rotation, but it doesn't stop and keeps running. Do you have an idea? Maybe the control board is faulty? I would be very happy to hear from you. A good service address from Thetford would also help me. Thanks Dieter
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
Hi Dieter, Thank you for watching my video. Your problem could be the control board but there is one other thing it could be. At 2 minutes 17 seconds in my video you may be able to see the red wire from the motor connects to the black wire going to the control board and the black wire from the motor connects to the red wire going to the control board. I don’t understand why it is wired this way but it could be the answer to your problem. There is thetford-europe.com for Germany (Deutschland) but I do not understand it, sorry. Let me know how you get on. Best regards, Rob

Hi Rob. Thank you for your quick response. I tried your suggestion but no success. Are you sure your factory option doesn't use extra wires? Are the connectors next to the connector to the Electric Blade not used? Aren't there limit switches that shut off the motor? Many questions. But I can't find any information from Thetford on Electric Blade in Germany. And Thetford Germany doesn't provide any answers. I will now try to change the control board. Greetings Dieter

Addendum (see answer below): In your video "Fixing Fault on Thetford Toilet Electric Fan" I saw that there is another connector next to the connector for the Electric Blade. I can see 3 lines (red, black, red). Can you tell me which component these wires go to? Do you know a wiring diagram of the toilet with Electric Blade? I would really appreciate if you could help me because I'm stuck right now.
@robswiseways56973 жыл бұрын
Hi Dieter, Sorry I do not have a wiring diagram. The connectors next to the electric blade connection point are not used in this case. They may control other items but I do not know what. I tried a spare motor connected to the panel and it stops and starts when the button is pressed. The limit switch is either in the motor or on the control board. The 3 lines (contacts) you see are unused in this case but again I do not know what they are for. There are no (red, black, red) wires. Play the video and zoom in. You may see wires curled which look like they are connected but are not. You may have to try another board. Let me know how you get on. Best regards, Rob
@dieterprochaska87482 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob. It works! Many thanks for your answer. That was very helpful. Because no other control wires are used, the board must recognize the endpoints. At first I didn't dare to install the motor. That was the mistake! It is not easy to install the motor correctly. I had to disassemble the toilet to do this. And really, the board recognizes the endpoints, and everything works fine. Finally, a tip: In your video: "Thetford Cassette Toilet Factory Options Demonstration" you explain that after activating the panel with the flush button, you must press the Electric blade button twice. I've always wondered why this is necessary. I think the motor starts in the wrong direction and tries to close the blade when you press the button the first time. This could be due to the swapped red and black wires to the motor you mentioned in your first answer. I connected red to red and black to black. Now I only must press the button once after activating the panel. Thank you for your help and best regards Dieter

Hi Michele, Thetford say the electric blade cannot be fitted as an accessory and is only available when ordering a toilet brand new. The stickers are all the same but the control board underneath is different. Your control board will just have the flush button, fan button and multi level indicators. The extra parts fitted on the toilet for the blade are: motor, bracket, two screws, gear wheel, control panel/board and wiring that connects the motor to the control board. For more inofmation have a look at my responses to other comments. You could also contact Thetford. Thanks for watching. Rob
