There's always something to do on a small farm. I take a pasture walk to see how the cattle pasture is fairing after a little over a week of them being on it. I discover a fence issue and tend to that. The clutch arrives for the Farmall 460 tractor so I Bonzi that back together. Then I finish the day out with pig chores.
We are a small 40 acre direct-to-consumer livestock farm located in Western NY. We provide pasture raised beef, pork, chicken & eggs to our local community. We practice sustainable land practices that utilize natural methods to keep our soils/pastures healthy and our animals happy.
I am the 2nd generation to live on this piece of property after my parents purchased it in 1978. As a child we were not a working farm. But there were dairy farms surrounding us. So naturally I was hooked with farming since I saw my first tractor. As time went on, I worked for a couple of these farms and that only fueled my love of agriculture. In 2019 I was able to move back home as my parents were ready to downsize and I was ready to try my hand at farming. Stacy and logan share the same love of farming as I do. Stacy growing up on her family's dairy farm and logans exposure of farming/tractors at a very young age. Join us on this journey and see where the farm life takes us.

Good videos, I allways preferred 460 tractors to a 560. I have a IH 606 with 2001 loader.

Hey Matt,,nicely done on the 460. We had a 560 diesel my dad and uncle did a restoration on when i was a kid. Pretty handy tractor for years afterwards. I spent many a year twisting wrenches myself. Eventually hurts.

Thanks, but I know just enough to get by. lol. I have forgotten more than I will ever remember with all the things I have worked on in the last 22 years making a living as a mechanic until this past March. It does certainly help knowing a thing or two when it comes to having equipment on a small farm like ours. I couldn't imagine if I had to call and pay someone to fix every little thing when it breaks. Never could make the farm survive if that was the case.

@@Cobbhillfarms You should get a job at tech school teaching those young men how to troubleshoot on old equipment, it would save them so much trouble later on... sadly our schools don't teach things kids are going to need like skills and how to handle money pay bills and such just give them this entitled mentality that the government and everyone owes them along with all the inclusive drama with sexes lately lol sorry if this causes you problems feel free to delete lol

@@jerrycopley9325 No worries. Everyone has the right to their own opinion. I will say that our county has a technical & career center that teaches skilled trades to junior and senior high school students. Its a wonderful program. As far as teaching handling money and pay bills. Funny you mention that. Stacy is a middle school math teacher. One of her jobs it's to teach a personal finance class to 8th graders at a public school. She teaches balancing check books and how to write a check, different types of loans, and also what to look for as far as internet scams and many other things. So, its still being done out there just maybe not as much as it needs to be. I appreciate your comments.🙂

Good video. Cut a small patch of hay here in Nebraska today hoping to get it put up before it rains.

Did you end up getting your hay in before the rain? We just got done breaking in our hay equipment for this season. Did a small old horse pasture for a lifelong friend of mine around the corner. Got it baled before some incoming rain over night. Watch for some upcoming hay videos.
