Used these to hang a couple of column rads in my extension end of last year. Worked a treat! Also keeping my kitchen cabinets on the wall and the hook I hang my mankini on.

Awesome video. Cheers! Quick question - I used these Corefix plugs throughout my last house with dot and dab over block walls. My current house, the interior walls are aircrete blocks. I’ve used the Corefix plugs to attach some light shelves and they seem fine but is that wise? How do Corefix (red) plugs handle aircrete blocks? Cheers!

at 5:06 you say "We've got no pull down at all" whilst clearly showing that the plasterboard is slightly bowed downwards?
@sturutter3378

That's what I thought "no pulldown at all" - board nearly snaps in half.
@andarno01
@andarno01 3 жыл бұрын
@Kern Jung What difference does that make, the plaster will still pull in also. Definately some draw in of the board, however given the problem with fixing through dot/dab this is still one of the best fixings I have seen.

Nice explanation vid Jimbo! Love that Bosch. These screws are great bits of kit. Used them to hang TVs on the wall and no issues. The only small improvement I'd like to see is a pan-head screw version instead of the countersunk variety. Only a small thing, but I think pan heads are slightly better if you are using something with washers. Debrief on Thursday with the #alearmy 🍺😀🍹

Recently had a building done. they used 65mm insulation plaster board D&D walls, verdict a real pain in the arse to attach anything to the walls. biggest regret I should have said plaster the walls the old fashion tried and tested method. ie no D&D.

I know these aren't meant to be removed however for those people who rent who have to remove anything wall hung before moving, would've been nice to see you remove them to see how easy they are to remove Other than that, I expected that rad to fall when you hung on it! My jaw was literally dropped! Great vid!
@Jackzuk
@Jackzuk 4 жыл бұрын
I assume u remove them the same way u remove any raw plug, put the screw in jist enough to bite but not enough to expand the plug and then use the back of a hammer against a small bit of wood (to protect the wall) to pull it out.

AT last, something that works, and while I am on with you can I ask why the tall modern rads just like the one,s showed here Why do they take so long to get hot, we have ten rads with a new boiler and new modern pump fitted, just two years ago, all the old rads are piping hot in twenty minutes, but theses twp modern tall ones tank the best part of an hour. It seems to be the hot water dashes across the flow and returns and continues,s to the rest of the system, instead of actually going all around the rad first, any tips, please, Yes anyone,.

Can't see the issue with fixing things to concrete blocks using concrete screws. If you hit a soft mortar line then possibly, but generally they are great.

What do you do if your inner brick leaf is made of Swiss cheese? I put up a vertical radiator and ended up filling one screw hole with plugs because they just wouldn't grab and kept disappearing inside the wall. My rad is held up with 7 screws instead of 8 as a result. I want to potentially put a TV up on the wall, but I don't even know if I can trust it to hold.

I just mark the plasterboard where the brackets are gonna go and chop out the board in those 4 or 6 small areas. Then fill it with hardwall or plasterboard adhesive flush with the wall surface. Next day.... away you go. Cheaper.

Ok if you have a decent masonry behind like in your video. Checking corefix loads in aerated pb2 and 4 blocks you would not be able to hang that rad with two fixings ( these types of blocks are in most new builds in the uk). You can also drill into pipes and cables behind that are chopped into the walls . If the walls have Batons or Dot a Dab, then you can use Bullfix Universal Plasterboard Fixings or Bullfix Extra Plasterboard Fixings. One fixing can hold a mans weight in 12.5mm Plasterboard kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2icimOPf7N-iK8
