Fixing Husky 1750PSI Electric Power Washer Motor Issues (The motor just humming not spinning).

Thanks, I hope that is my problem. The old capacitor looked good? So you were hoping that was the problem? My cheap multimeter doesn't do capacitance.

The old capacitor looks good but no sparks when you do shortcut both wire. Good capacitor if you load with voltage will sparks if both wires shortcut. That is the way I am testing the capacitor. So I purchased a generic capacitor from ebay to replaced the old one. Walah.... the power pressure works like a charm.

I have the same exact machine and it doesn’t have pressure :/ I checked the valve in bottom already. What else can this be from?

I have the same unit can you tell me what are the color of the motor wires that connect to the capacitor?

Hi, as I remember black and white, you don't have to worries about the wire color, because the AC stater capacitor doesn't have polarity, you can connect the wire either way.

Have you ever heard one that runs and works fine but has a kind of ting sound when its pumping? Mine seems kind of noisy and you can hear a slight tinging noise almost like you were to hit some metal wrenches together, but seems to work just fine. I am thinking it lost a little bit of oil from sitting a long time but I'm not sure. I have an electric Husky 1750 pressure washer just like yours in this video.

Hi there, Husky 1750 no any maintenance required, as long you keep clean the unit after using it. The issues you have sounds like the water pump propeller getting loss or might be broken that can cause metal to metal friction while the motor rotor spinning. The other thing that can cause the noise is the motor fan blade could be bent or not seat properly on the center. You need to teardown to find out the issues. Hope this can help.

I was thinking it could also be that it wasn't getting enough water because the hose my neighbor had is one of those shrinking hoses and not a lot of water flows from it. I will try it on a regular hose and if still making noise, i will open it up and take a look. Thanks again

No, If the motor doesn't humming, probably the wiring issues, the circuit breaker switch on the electric plug is malfunction or the motor it self. Try to replace the electric plug with standard non circuit breaker plug first. If the motor still not humming test the wiring with multimeter. If everything is goid that means the motor blown.

I replaced the capacitor but still it won't run. I can turn the impeller by hand. Any ideas ?

Any motor humming when you turn on the power? If the motor not humming that means not the capacitor issues, that might be: 1. Bad Motor. 2. Bad wiring. 3. Bad power switch. 4. Bad power cord.

I have the same one. It's junk since new. Don't buy Husky is a waste of money and time.
