Thank you! I was able to get away with only removing the 4 screws on the sides, then I was able to get the drawer unstuck without completely disconnecting the control panel. This was exceptionally helpful!

THANKS FOR THE VIDEO! My daughter's broke after 4? years / out of warranty. Exact same way yours broke. Helping her out, I saw the lid was $200 from LG, maybe $100 from ebay. I can't / won't spend that much for so little material. And don't want family doing that either. I found an open box new machine on craigslist for $200 (and a 6 hour round trip to get it). We'll sell other parts from this unit / save it for other parts on this. I'm not an LG fan to start. How reliable would you say your LG products are? How old was yours when you had this issue? Any other issues with this machine besides this lid issue? There's another video on youtube of a guy who's silver handle broke - 1 of the side pins broke off. he used plastic epoxy to glue it. Ever try fixing your lid? I was wondering if I could epoxy scrap plastic over the cracked area you and me have. She couldn't find the broken plastic, so knowing the type of plastic / thickness to use would be another issue. and while I wondered about the lid getting caught when closing, she didn't have that issue. for you, did you try slipping something in the gap (a thin cutting board type of flexible material?) to hold the latch down? You spent a fair amount of time getting the front cover off. And that's a water hose?! LG doesn't put a clamp on that?!

Less than two-year-old LG SideKick started to leak. Upon a closer look, I realized that a quarter/penny got washed and cracked the gray plastic piece where the lid sits @7:45. Not sure what it's. If I called. If I can get that plastic ring out, I might be able to plastic solder it. Do you have any tips, please?

Is the replacement lid better quality or the same lid with plastic hinges etc??

So my pedestal washer isn’t even opening. Yours is somewhat open about an inch. My washer draw is completely locked and will not budge

Hi Tayyaba, hopefully you have gotten your sidekick open and up and running by now. If not try and actually pushing the drawer in rather than pulling it out. Push & pull a few times to see if you can get any movement. If that doesn't work you are going to have to try and take the face off to get to the lid. Since the spacing between the unit and the floor is soooo small buy an "offset screwdriver" it is shaped like a S or L.

Thank you for your input this was my first video, I'll try and make them shorter. This experience gave me a ton of appreciation for all the hard work that goes into making videos we judge so harshly; I probably spent 8 hours producing this video.
