Fixing my crooked Kraken X62 pump logo

Many of you mentioned in my video review of the Kraken X62 that it looked like the logo on the pump was crooked. You were correct so I decided to investigate a bit. Thankfully, the fix was easy!

They should've just made the logo rotatable. That was no matter which way the tubes are facing, the logo will always be facing the right way.

Honestly they shouldn't have put the logo in at all. would look much cleaner without it.

Thanks for uploading this - the logo on my X62 was just slightly crooked and clockwise rotation of the pump like you showed in your video was enough to get it level. If anybody reading this is curious, I didn't reapply thermal paste when adjusting the pump - I just loosened the screws and twisted, as shown in the video. CPU temps have been the same before and after, so it seems like re-pasting wasn't necessary.

The original NZXT X61 had a lot of play even when you place the bracket onto all 4 corners. I think the heatsink is convex and pressure from tightening stops that play. I just reinstalled mine with some grizzly and it moved around so much, I thoght there was something between the cpu and heatsink until I tightened the thumb screws.

Mine is slightly off as well. It's a retail X73. Oh well, keeps my cpu super cool, so it stays unless you have a good fix. Just started the video btw lol. Back to watching your fix.

FYI... the retention bracket can be adjusted... Simply push down on it (With the copper plate facing you) and rotate.

As OCD as I find this I too hate it when branding doesn't look level. This goes for other things besides computers. I bought a TV several years ago and noticed the brand printing was off by about 1/16 or an inch. But learned to live with it because I certainly wasn't going through the trouble of returning it. Hopefully the screws didn't pull it out of alignment again while tightening. I've seen that a lot on products.

I have the x42 but I'm still not sure if it is anymore efficient than my replaced Coolermaster 212 evo. X42 is gorgeous though. Oh the Cam software has been vastly improved this week, I'm currently running version 3.2.26 which fixed the reset of the LEDs after a reboot or hibernate and also the login issues.

Hey, i'm having troubles with this kraken x52 aswell... One of the LEDs on the edge is more dim then all the others. Left bottom, is this normal, think my unit is faulty.

It is definitely a Windows issue on the CAM software... I had the same troubles and more... Once I ran the Fall update for Windows 10, all was magically fixed!

Wait.. Did you check the level of the table? I mean, the logo may have been level to begin with. Haha

Once you loosened the cpu block shoudn't you completely remove it and replace the thermal paste? Because loosening it could've created air bubbles in the already existing thermal paste and caused your cpu temps to rise.... not sure, still somewhat a bit of a noobie

Hi there, I have the same problem, but my logo is much more croocked than yours. This solution is not possible for me because I have installed all RAM modules, and RAM clearance is terrible, in fact pipe elbows are pushing a little the near module, so is impossible to turn the entire pump counter clockwise for me at all. I'm waiting for a solotion form NZXT, but yes, I suggest them to put the pipe elbows in any other pump side or make the logo glass rotatable.

Well, my solution was a replacement unit from NZXT support. Very nice customer care!!!

Double on the NZXT cam software issue. Only using it for the Hue+ module here but had to do a clean reinstall some time ago to fix the buggy launching problems.

Glad to know I'm not alone. I really think it's Windows update related. Something about the software goes wonky when a major update gets applied. That's my best guess. That or just horrible coding on NZXT's part.

For the not loading problem go the "show hidden icons" and right click on the logo and say open

I have a question how long is the usb cable? I have an Asrock Z97 Extreme4 and an NZXT H440. My concern is the internal USB2 header on my motherboard is at the bottom. Do you think there's enough cable length to run it behind my motherboard and up into the usb header at the bottom?

Looking at my cooler and the amount of space the tubing sticks out beyond the mounting points, I think you should have enough clearance.

If you do develop an issue, I uninstalled the software package for CAM and then reinstalled it and it was working again. I think one of the Windows updates broke it but a clean install of CAM got it back up and running.

Tech Uploaded could I not install the CAM software and just run the fans and pump offer my Asus Z170 Deluxe motherboard and AI Suit like I'm doing with my recently installed Corsair H115i? I'd just like to have it all run from over place

You could for fan and pump speed control but with the X62 the CAM software also allows for controlling the lighting on the pump.

Thanks for the fallow up! Yeah forgot about that. My H115i light up white be default and thatjine with my Anidees AI-Crystal white LED fans. I didn't even bother installing the Link software. Hopefully the X62 is defauts to white also. I don't need the fancy colors. I have my Mother board and graphics card LED set to CPu and GPU temps respectively, so they actually server a purpose.

You can just disassemble the top part of pump with a screwdriver and adjust the angle of plastic light conducting detail as you desire. It is not rocket science, so anyone with straight hands could do it. As for you twisting attempts I would not do that, because this pump uses plastic back plate behind the motherboard instead of metal stock detail. Any plastic parts are subject to the aging process when they become very brittle over time, especially if they are regularly subjected to heat. Thus, it is possible the plastic fastening broke over time, for example, a year later, because of the applied rotational force, which was not supposed by manufacturers of this cooling system.

i have a corsair h115 aio cooler and thinking of buying the x62 . can i just take of the 115i and attach the x62 without removing the h115 standoffs and backplate ?

TianXian Hu yes you can. I have it installed now for 3 months and it works perfect. temps at 19 degree while browsing and 39 degree while gaming . this is with a overclocked i76850 at 4.5ghz

That is really bad. Maybe just a bad one? Thinking of getting this myself, don't fancy the Corsair 115i as that seems to have very noisy pumps and be very unreliable.

The CAM software on my Windows 8 machine gets buggier with every update. It's to the point I don't\can't even run it anymore. So I don't think it's a Windows 10 issue only.

kraken wont even show up in cam for me, so I'll probably be returning this cooler unless their support can help me. I've tried changing usb 2.0 ports, uninstalling and reinstalling cam and the kraken simply wont show up. =(
