I remember these when they were brand spanking new cars and they were really modern like somthing from out of space.

When you do the rust repair, you’re going to absolutely enjoy it! Don’t get me wrong, its highly frustrating at the same time especially when things doesn’t go the way you expect them to. I started about 3 or 4 years ago trying to make my own repair sections and got very frustrated with it, that i actually stopped my project, the issue was i put so much pressure on myself to try and get everything spot on when i was just a beginner, im quite happy with what i can produce now, i still make so many mistakes and my neatness isnt there yet but all the same im so happy with what i can do. Definitely go for it and keep at it. Seats look really nice and the colour matches the paint work as well nice job 👍 All the best. Steve.

Making great progress. Looking much better already. Those St170 seats do look a lot better. I'm not big into doing big modifications to cars but subtle mods like changing seats are good to do in my view like what you've done.

Thank you - I absolutely agree, and I don't usually like modifications of any kind. This is subtle and the new seats spark much more joy than the old ones, so I'm going with it!

I'm really enjoying your Focus mk1 content. Well done for sticking with it with the clutch, welding etc. Those seats do look so much better, and I'm not suusally one from changing from the standard spec, but I can see why you have.

Goodness me that is three people this week complaining of bad gear changes - due to a missing selector bush! They arn't great when they age and just fall off! Doing a clutch change is never simple when it comes to the pinch bolts on the hubs and other things that occur, it is a first where the starter motor wires have gone brittle and broken, something to be aware of!

Hey, i fitted ST170 chairs from a 3dr into my povvo pack 1.8 sedan about y 14yrs ago, after a full mod on the rear seats to fit in, the latch is in a different place and got them working fine, i moved to the fronts, as yours are manual like mine, i found a plug and wire under the carpet which connects to the ST driver seat, plugged it in and worked fine . Maybe look under the carpet for the plug, it should be there.. Cheers from Aust

Great progress with the Focus, it seems good ones are getting scarce now. I was just wondering if you checked under the drivers carpet for any wiring loom plugs for your seat because sometimes every car gets the same loom but with some plugs taped up. With a new clutch and new bushes on the cables it must be a better deiving experience!

The headrest stowing solution is pretty common, my mk2 Skoda Fabia has similar but your focus has proper holes whereas the fabia just has a cutout in the seat foam

Great video it’s like watching my self doing this seat transplant 😉 couple years ago. One advice try connect the electric hight adjusting seat and see if it works.I remember on my 1.6 zetec it was straight plug and play no need for extra power. Good luck 🤞

Question for any Focus heads, been meaning to swap out my original interior in my 04 LX, the question is would an st170 interior be plug and play or would I also have to swap over the bases? Another problem I have is apparently I have airbags in the seats aswell, does the st170 seats also have this ? Many thanks
@marty34697 ай бұрын
Plug and play, even the plug for the driver electrics. Just be aware that sedan backrests are slightly different where the locking goes, you'll work it out
