Hello, I have been watching your channel with pleasure and enjoying the videos with increasing enthusiasm. All down from Norway to the Australian desert. Inspired by these videos and the various incidents, I brought my own warhorse, a 1998 RD07a, back to life from the old barn where I parked it 9 years ago. I have now soldered the wiring to the alternator regulator and replaced the regulator itself with a modern one. I've been driving a modified replacement fuel pump for a long time. The first few kilometers on the roads (it's autumn here) didn't disappoint me. The familiarity with the driving behavior was immediately back. I wish you health and happiness on the roads. Hans from Bavaria, Germany.

Great to get a glimpse of Papunya, where I first lived back in the late 60s. Mum ran the hospital and dad ran the workshop as a mechanic, the post office, the power generator etc. Back in around 2000, mum and dad returned there in their 4wd and waiting for them was a small 'welcoming committee'. Noone could have known they were driving in that day, but somehow they just knew. It was a teary reunion after about 25 years. In 2010, we joined the olds in our 4wds from NSW on a big half loop of the Red Centre. How I love that country and can't stop watching this amazing series! Can't wait to get back there myself. I recently put my KLR650 down on a dirt road with some freshly poured sand and gravel here in middle of Kansas, USA. So, watching you bust along at 75mph is awesome. With all of my 1000 to 1500 mile trips people can't believe I did that. But, then to watch you make a trip like this is absolutely inspiring to me. Working through fuel and electrical issues with some degree of patience. Knowing your bike so that those small repairs don't stop you is what it's all about. Loved watching this, only wish I had a 10th of your riding skills. After my KLR650 I'm now on a 2016 Africa Twin. Loving this bike and hope to make some memories like you have. Thanks for the inspiration Adam!!

So what I gather from this series is that you don’t need TC, ABS, TFT screens, EFI, cruise control, tubeless tyres, tyre pressure monitors, different riding modes and a plethora of other features to go on an epic adventure, just a little know how and some good riding skills, who would have thought !!! Long May old school bikes used for what they were designed for, hard to believe that back in the day of the warhorse they were never real popular in Australia along with the rest of the P/ D replicas, my how times have changed. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Keep up the good work sir

You asked a very important question in this part "Are you ready for the sacrifice". While I am ready for the camping, rough roads, etc. I am also well aware of my mechanical knowledge and riding limits. That in mind, the trip you've undertaken in this series (epic series btw) would very likely be suicidal for me. Thus I am very happy knowing my own skills will not allow me to do this kind of trip and rather stick to the 60/40 (on and off-road) throughout Europe and Scandinavia, not commiting suicide by face-planting in remote parts of the world, but also watching you do this while supporting you in the ways I can. Thanks for taking us along and taking the stress of leaving your familiy for those long periods of time.
